RIDGEWOOD, New Jersey (CNN) -- Catherine Zeta-Jones and husband Michael Douglas are the parents of a new daughter, the couple's second child together.
Carys Zeta Douglas weighed six pounds, 12 ounces when delivered early Easter morning at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City. The Douglases live in Manhattan.
The birth came less than a month after Zeta-Jones won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as "Velma" in "Chicago" -- and performed a song from the musical on the Academy Awards telecast.
"Mother and baby are doing fantastic," said publicist Cece York, "and all of the Douglases are thrilled."
This is quite a "family" time for the Douglas clan. Michael, father Kirk Douglas, ex-wife Diana Douglas, and Michael's son Cameron Douglas all star in "It Runs In The Family," a comedy about a dysfunctional extended family opening this Friday. Michael will also be seen next month opposite Albert Brooks in "The In-Laws," a loose remake of the 1979 Peter Falk/Alan Arkin comedy classic.
The couple's first child, Dylan Michael Douglas, was born August 8, 2000.
