    Like many members of Saddam Hussein's inner circle and the Iraqi army, Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, the former Deputy Chairman of the Iraqi Revolutionary Command Council, sported an impressive mustache. He raised eyebrows in 2003 when, at a diplomatic summit in the lead up to the Second Gulf War, he yelled at a Kuwaiti representative: "Curse be upon your moustache, you traitor."

    Insurgent leader al-Douri 'killed in security op'

    A former top deputy to Saddam Hussein, branded the "King of Clubs" by the U.S., and more recently a key figure in Sunni extremist groups battling the Iraqi government, has been killed, Iraqi TV says.
