HILLARY CLINTON, (D) U.S. PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: I accept your nomination for president of the United States.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

NATALIE ALLEN, CNN NEWSROOM SHOW HOST: Hillary Clinton's big moment. Up next here, what she's saying about her plans, her achievement and her rival.

Turkey, after the military coup attempts, soldiers say they're being punished even tortured for simply following orders.

The pope in Poland this hour will pray for those killed by Nazis at the Auschwitz Concentration camp.

It's all ahead here on CNN Newsroom. Welcome to our viewers around the world. We are live in Atlanta. I'm Natalie Allen.

Hillary Clinton has taken a new place in U.S. history. With those six words you just heard "I accept your nomination for president," she became the first woman to ever had a major party ticket in the United States.

Clinton delivered her acceptance Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Fitting as Philadelphia is the birth place of America's democracy. Clinton's speech largely focuses on her platform of immigration, terror, and the economy.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CLINTON: My primary mission as president will be to create more opportunity and more good jobs with rising wages, right here in the United States.

(APPLAUSE)

In my first 100 days we will work with both parties to pass the biggest investment in new good paying jobs since World War II. (APPLAUSE)

Jobs in manufacturing, clean energy, technology and innovations, small business and infrastructures. I believe America thrives when the middle class thrives. I believe our economy isn't working the way it should because our democracy isn't working the way it should.

(APPLAUSE)

That's why we need to appoint Supreme Court justices who will get money out of politics and expand voting rights not restrict them.

(APPLAUSE)

And I believe Wall Street can never ever be allowed to wreck Main Street again.

(APPLAUSE)

I believe that when we have millions of hardworking immigrants contributing to our economy it would be self-defeating and inhumane to try to kick them out.

(APPLAUSE)

Comprehensive Immigration Reform will grow our economy and keep families together and it's the right thing to do.

(APPLAUSE)

ALLEN: Clinton also took swipe at her republican rival Donald Trump especially over his temper.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CLINTON: Donald Trump says and this is a quote, "I know more about ISIS than the generals do." No, Donald, you don't.

(APPLAUSE)

Ask yourself, you really think Donald Trump has the temperament to be commander-in-chief? Donald Trump can't even handle the rough and tumble of a presidential campaign.

(APPLAUSE)

He loses his school at the slightest provocation. When he's gotten the tough question from a reporter, when he's challenge in a debate, when he sees a protestor at a rally. Imagine, if you dare imagine, imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis.

A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapon.

(APPLAUSE) (END VIDEO CLIP)

ALLEN: Also, Clinton did not forget to mention the historic nature of her accomplishment as a female.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CLINTON: Tonight we've reached a milestone in our nation's march toward a more perfect union. The first time that a major party has nominated a woman for president.

[03:05:01] (APPLAUSE)

Standing here -- standing here as my mother's daughter and my daughter's mother, I'm so happy this day has come. I'm happy for grandmothers and little girls and everyone in between. I'm happy for boys and men, because when any barrier falls in America it clears the way for everyone.

(APPLAUSE)

After all, when there are no ceilings, the sky is the limit.

(APPLAUSE)

So, let's keep going. Let's keep going until every one of the 161 million women and girls across America has the opportunity she deserves to have.

(APPLAUSE)

ALLEN: Many of the night's speakers like much of the convention work to reassure the public that Clinton can help keep America safe.

John Allen, a retired four-star general told delegates she is best qualified to lead the fight against terror. He delivered his speech surrounded by dozens of military veterans.

The family of police officers killed in the line of duty also spoke about their loved ones while pivoting to Clinton's message of being strong together. Mothers whose children were killed by police addressed the convention earlier in the week.

One of the more powerful speeches may have been from Khizr Khan, the father of a Muslim soldier killed in Iraq. He called out Trump for being divisive and smirking the character of religious minority.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KHIZR KHAN, FATHER OF MUSLIM U.S. SOLDIER: And I am joined. Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery? Go look at the graves of great patriots who died defending United States of America. You will see all faiths, genders, and ethnicities.

(APPLAUSE)

You have sacrificed nothing.

(APPLAUSE)

And no one. Let me ask you, have you even read the United States Constitution?

(APPLAUSE)

I will -- I will gladly lend you my copy.

(APPLAUSE)

In this document, look for the words -- look for the words liberty and equal protection of law.

(APPLAUSE)
