NANCY GRACE, HOST: Good evening. I`m Nancy Grace. I want to thank you for being with us. Happy new year, everyone, and happy holidays all around. We are ringing in the new year tonight, a break from missing people, unsolved homicides, and we are focusing on fun.

And with us tonight and taking your calls, an all-star lineup of famous dance professionals, stars and experimental Guinea pigs that our pro dancers who are going to strut on the ballroom dance floor. Now, this is live. We`ve got one hour to see if the pros can teach completely untrained civilians how to dance.

Bombshell tonight! It`s a danceoff. With us, fan favorite and fashion...

(CROSSTALK)

MAKS CHMERKOVSKIY, "DANCING WITH THE STARS": Before we continue, if I may interrupt, you can`t dance without shoes, so I`m going to bring...

GRACE: The Guinea pigs are getting shoes.

MAKS CHMERKOVSKIY: The Guinea pigs are getting shoes.

GRACE: And as you can see, with us is Maks Chmerkovskiy. Also with us, the best dancer in the world, Tristan...

CARSON KRESSLEY, "DANCING WITH THE STARS": Oh, Nancy, stop! I was fan favorite. But best dancer in the world is a bit hyperbolic.

GRACE: Tristan MacManus, fan favorite...

(CROSSTALK)

(VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Carson Kressley.

(VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: And classically trained musician and dancer Val Chmerkovskiy.

(VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Also with us, dancing pro Tony Dovolani.

(VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: And I want to say thank you to Tony, Maks and Val letting us shoot live tonight here in their studio, "Dance With Me," in Soho. Put a little booty into that!

OK, as you all recall, the defense attorney that joins us so often, Renee Rockwell -- oh, yes, baby`s got back, that`s all I can say.

Oh, and then there`s Josh (ph), our male Guinea pig, Stacy (ph). And there she is, Koran Sicoli (ph), and she`s got rhinestones on her shoes. And let me tell you that`s not going to help. All right...

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TRISTAN MACMANUS, ``DANCING WITH THE STARS``: What do you know about the cha-cha?

GRACE: I know one, two, three, cha-cha.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MACMANUS: You should be able to teach things differently. And I think...

GRACE: Well, then what happened to me in the cha-cha. What went wrong?

MACMANUS: Because you can learn it if you listen. That`s what went wrong.

GRACE: Second verse, same as the first.

MACMANUS: I think that the best thing from -- for someone who`s coming in and just learning for the first time is to be considered a non- trend (ph).

GRACE: Hey, Tony, all the pros and all of viewers want to know what do you do when your partner freezes on the floor? What`s the pro supposed to do?

TONY DOVOLANI, "DANCING WITH THE STARS" (via telephone): The first thing you`re supposed to do is stay calm and try to take care of her. Try to remind her about the routine. You know, you got to use trigger words that make you kind of -- you know, makes your partner kind of remind herself where she`s at.

GRACE: You know, that`s interesting, Tony, because my pro never gave me a single instruction on the floor. But occasionally, I would look at him, and he looked really, really -- just his eyes. He always had the perfect smile, but his eyes would, like, look a little scared when I lost - - well, I lost my place. I blanked a couple of times.

Charity in Kentucky. Hi, Charity.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hi, Nancy. What is your favorite dance that you did this season and why?

MACMANUS: My favorite dance -- it was...

(CROSSTALK)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I`m sorry.

MACMANUS: I mean, I had fun doing most of them. I liked the "Spamalot" dance.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes, that was a great one.

MACMANUS: Just because of -- it was more of our costumes. I really liked those.

GRACE: You know...

(CROSSTALK)

KRESSLEY: ... have your family crest on you. Did you notice that?

MACMANUS: It had my town crest on it, so that was (INAUDIBLE)

GRACE: And actually, that was supposed to be a topless mermaid, as I recall, and you...

(CROSSTALK)

MACMANUS: They wouldn`t let me...

GRACE: ... seashells on the front.

MACMANUS: ... -show the mermaid`s top, so we put a few rhinestones on there.

GRACE: Now, I was told your favorite dance was the paso doble because you got to go without a shirt.

MACMANUS: Yes, I was told that, as well. But yes, that`s not the case.

GRACE: OK, Carson...

MACMANUS: My favorite dance is the rhumba.

GRACE: Rhumba?

MACMANUS: Yes.

GRACE: Or the "room-ba." Thank you. OK, your turn. Favorite dance.

KRESSLEY: My favorite dance? Was there one where Maks had his shirt off? Was there?

GRACE: OK, look, we already know you tried on his pants in wardrobe.

(CROSSTALK)

KRESSLEY: No, my favorite dance was my tango because we actually did that kind of well. And when we were preparing for it, they said, you know, this -- Anna said, This dance is about, like, love and hate. And I was, like, Oh, well, I`m never really going to, like, want you, Anna. Sorry. So we have to make this something that I would lust after. And I was, like, Oh, your shoes.

So we made it about, like, the fashion tango, and we started out on the runway. And I think that was the thing that we tried to do every week was really personalize our dances because I wasn`t very good, so we had to put a lot of personality into that.

GRACE: That`s not true. You were great.

KRESSLEY: Well, you know, technically.

GRACE: I especially liked your pirate dance.

KRESSLEY: My pirate dance! That was fun until -- we had practiced with those swords. We did the sword fighting thing, and in every rehearsal, we, like, threw the swords like crazy. But when we did the live show, it`s, like, Oh, I don`t want to -- I don`t want to stab Kris Jenner in the face with my sword. So I gently rolled it onto the floor, and then it rolled back under my feet, and we were, like, doing the...

GRACE: We were watching.

KRESSLEY: Oh, is that my sword?

GRACE: And you danced around it the whole time.

KRESSLEY: Oh, there`s the sword. Oh, look, it`s the sword, everybody. Oh, the sword is rolling back under my feet. So that really threw me. And it was my -- it was my Chynna Phillips (ph) moment, where I just -- like, I lost it, and I, like, didn`t know where I was and...

GRACE: It didn`t show.

KRESSLEY: It didn`t?

GRACE: It really did not show.

KRESSLEY: It`s the -- the costumes really distracted from that. They were so amazing.

GRACE: Well, especially that fake, fake facial hair.

KRESSLEY: Well, my -- it wasn`t fake -- well, yes, it was.

(CROSSTALK)

KRESSLEY: It was real hair, but it was glued on.

GRACE: OK, favorite dance, Val?

VAL CHMERKOVSKIY, "DANCING WITH THE STARS": That`s not a lot of choice in that one, and I only got two.

GRACE: Well, OK, from the two.

VAL CHMERKOVSKIY: No, I felt like our quick step was actually really good.

GRACE: It was very good.

VAL CHMERKOVSKIY: Yes. Just technically sound and...

GRACE: You know, I think the judges picked on you because you were just too sexy.

VAL CHMERKOVSKIY: No.

(VIDEO CLIP)

Now, why are you so proud of them?

VAL CHMERKOVSKIY: Because I`m very hard on them, and they -- you know, they really live up to my expectations. They work very hard, and they have a lot of fun doing it.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

GRACE: Welcome back, everybody and Happy New Year. We took some guinea pigs, no dance training. And in one hour, have tried to teach them to dance w me, our esteemed judges, you know what, take that Len, Bruno and Carrie. I`m sorry, you`re fired. Tristan MacManus, Carson Kressley and Val Chmerkovskiy, let`s see the guinea pigs.

KRESSLEY: It`s OK. They were so good, I give them a 97.

TRISTAN MACMANUS, PROFESSIONAL DANCER: And let me give you a nine.

VAL CHMERKOVSKIY, PROFESSIONAL DANCER: Because of all the extra things in the beginning, I really liked the characteristics, I will give that a 10.

GRACE: Let`s see our next guinea pig. (PAIR PERFORMING)

(APPLAUSE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That was amazing.

GRACE: OK. What is your name? Are you married? Do you want to be? They`re great. I`m giving a 10. That`s an hour`s worth, Rachel.

KRESSLEY: Was that an hour`s worth of practice?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.

KRESSLEY: You are a natural. You are a driving savant. I love it. You`re better in me in week seven. I`m giving you a 94, because that is the only numbers I have left.

MACMANUS: Definitely you guys, a 10.

CHMERKOVSKIY: Hands down, 10. Very nice.

KRESSLEY: That was really good.

GRACE: Yehey! Rachel.

(APPLAUSE)

GRACE: OK. Let`s see our next guinea pig.

(PAIR PERFORMING)

(APPLAUSE)

GRACE: OK. Well, I never knew Josh could do a split. Just for the split that you did, Josh. Yes, just for your split alone, you get a 10.

KRESSLEY: And the number 97 because that`s all I have left.

MACMANUS: I got eight. You know, I was very, very entertained, doing a super job, I know you had the most difficult person, so, I`m going to give you a nine.

CHMERKOVSKIY: I really liked the enthusiasm and, you know, the passion that you put into it, especially when you, you know, went up her body like that, so I`m going to give you an eight.

GRACE: All right. One -- one more guinea pig. Here she comes.

(PAIR PERFORMING)

GRACE: Go Stacy!

(APPLAUSE)

GRACE: You know what, it has been all about the journey for Stacy, his journey to become a better and better dancer. And I`m glad, you`re such a good catcher, because I thought you were going to drop her. I`m going to have to give her a 10.

(APPLAUSE)

KRESSLEY: I was worried you were going to go through the mirror and that was a great save. So a nine.

MACMANUS: I`m going to give a 10, very, very good. Very good.

CHMERKOVSKIY: Solid 10, well deserved.

GRACE: We are going to be right back on our new year`s special, we are live here in Soho at dance with me studios, owned by Maks, Val and Tony.

(VIDEO CLIP PLAYING)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(VIDE CLIP PLAYING)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Number one, I walked down the aisle to that when I got married.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What year was that?

GRACE: 2007. Also, that was the very first lullaby I ever sang the twins ever.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Welcome back, everybody, happy New Year`s Eve. We are live in the Soho dance with me dance studio owned by Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy and Tony Dovolani.

And with us now, students from rising star academy and Val and Daria.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Nancy, you get an extra bonus point for your little special move there. You got guts.

(APPLAUSE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Jr. and Karina!

(APPLAUSE)

J.R. MARTINEZ, WINNER, DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON 13: The first mirror ball trophy, thank you very much.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The champions of "Dancing with the Stars," here.

(APPLAUSE)

GRACE: Joining us right now by satellite is Karina Smirnoff and J.R. Martinez, the reigning "Dancing with the Stars" champions. J.R., everyone knows that you are a war hero, now a motivational speaker, soon-to-be a father.

And I want to know if anything is compared to when you held up that mirror ball trophy. You know, people used to ask me, how does this compare to being in court and I used to say it was easier to try a serial killer than to go out and do that one minute and 36 second dance. And I don`t know why, but it was.

MARTINEZ: Yes, you know it take use lot of courage and bravery to do this show. I mean, as you know, to dance in front of millions of people, when, you know, you`ve never danced before or you don`t feel comfortable dancing.

And so, it definitely, you know, it definitely takes a toll and I don`t think it`s nothing I can actually compare it to different things I`ve done in life. I can just say this, everything I have been through already kind of prepared me for that moment and allowed me to go out there every Monday night and just have fun with it. And I think that was the biggest thing that Karina allowed me to do, if you have fun with it, everything else will take care of it.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
