HAMMER: Breaks news right now.

(MUSIC)

Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - a tale of two cities.

HAMMER: Yes. And Brooke, what Charles dickens wrote in "A Tale of Two Cities" could not fit Charlie Sheen any better. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that we were right there with Charlie Sheen in the worst of times over the weekend, that disastrous launch of his "Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour in Detroit, followed by the best of times, all things considered, the next night in Chicago.

And today SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is bringing you the inside story of what really happened inside the debacle in Detroit, behind the cheers in Chicago and the very first interview with Charlie after his show. It`s SHOWBIZ with Sheen.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over) Unemployed actor Charlie Sheen still managed to star in two major headline-making productions this weekend.

Saturday night, it was Charlie Sheen in disaster in Detroit. And on Sunday, it was Charlie Sheen in win in a Windy City.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We`ve got one word, winning.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT there was for both of Sheen`s weekend live stage shows, the first of 20 stop on Sheen`s "Violent Torpedo of Truth: Defeat is not an Option" tour.

And today, we bring you all the shocking inside details of what went wrong in Sheen`s opening night in Detroit.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Now, Charlie Sheen`s sober, I want Charlie back on track.

HAMMER: And what went right in his more successful show in Chicago.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Absolutely fabulous.

HAMMER: Detroit, the first stop of Sheen`s tour, was Sheen`s first entertainment gig since he was bounced from "Two and a Half Men" last month.

JOEY SCOLERI, CHARLIE SHEEN`S TOUR MANAGER: Charlie`s a performer, so the last thing I`m worried about is Charlie`s performance.

HAMMER: Before Saturday night`s debut, Sheen`s tour promoter and his longtime manager told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT they were ready to go.

OREN KULIS, CHARLIE SHEEN`S MANAGER: Completely sold out and he`s going to put amazing show for the people tonight.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you this footage from Saturday night`s show inside Detroit`s Fox Theater. Things got off to a good start for Sheen, but the honeymoon didn`t last long.

CHARLIE SHEEN, ACTOR: I figured Detroit was a good place to sell some crack.

HAMMER: After a while, the crowd turned on Sheen. People started walking out and, eventually, so did Sheen.

SHEEN: I`ll get back to this once you guys are awake.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It the worst show ever.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I want my money back.

HAMMER: After the show, ticked off audience members vented to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT and unloaded on Sheen.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The worst show ever.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Don`t do it live. Not worth the money.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He owes me $59.95.

KACEY JORDAN, PORN STAR WHO PARTIED WITH SHEEN: It`s sad that there`s a lot of people that are booing him and, you know, not supporting him.

HAMMER: Porn star Kacey Jordan knows when Sheen had a bad night. She was with him the night last January when his all-night house party ended with him being rushed to the hospital.

She was there for Sheen`s Detroit show Saturday. And soon after the carnage, she told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT even she felt bad for him.

JORDAN: I think tonight really bothered him.

HAMMER: The next night, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT followed Sheen on to Chicago. For night two of his tour at the Chicago Theater, Sheen switched things up, going to a talk show format.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He walked away from (INAUDIBLE) America. Most people don`t -

SHEEN: I didn`t walk away from (EXPLETIVE DELETED). I got fired. Hello.

HAMMER: Sheen talked about his firing from "Two and a Half Men." And in case you`re wondering if he`s over it, he`s not.

SHEEN: I made $5 billion for a company and they (EXPLETIVE DELETED) fired me. What would they have done if I made them $10 billion? Probably murdered me and my children.

CROWD (CHEERING): Charlie! Charlie!

HAMMER: After the show, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT found a much happier crowd in Chicago than we saw in Detroit.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Charlie Sheen rocks, baby.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He is genius.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We loved the show.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He did it right this time.

HAMMER: After his successful night in Chicago, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you Sheen flew back home to L.A. Today, Sheen`s publicist told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about Sheen`s successful show overhaul telling us, quote, "Sheen wanted to lose the accoutrements and strip it all down."

And looking ahead Sheen`s next stop in Cleveland on Tuesday, Sheen`s co- manager told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "He was happy but he still thinks there`s room for improvement."

So two days, two shows and two totally different results, more proof whether losing or winning, Charlie Sheen does it in epic fashion.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

I can`t even believe some of the inside stories that we`ve been hearing all day long about the tour. And this, of course, is just the beginning of the whole thing.

Let me go right to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter. Kareen was right there in Detroit for the start of this weekend`s "Sheen-demonium."

So Kareen, that first show - wow, was it a stinker. I have got to imagine that a big part of you somehow thought that Sheen`s "Torpedo" tour could actually go down in flames. But is what actually happened anything at all like what you imagined?

KAREEN WYNTER, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT CORRESPONDENT: A.J., not in a million years. I`m being honest here, completely honest. I left with a big, fat headache with all the nonsense that penetrated my brain for two hours.

I could not believe it. This is a show that crashed and burned. You know why fans were so upset? You know why they booed? You know why they called him a loser? You know why they demanded their refund?

Well, you know what? Sheen - he didn`t try. You know, it`s like he put no effort into it. He winged it. He was, you know, just sorting - you know, trying to figure out things as he went along.

And it`s really a slap in the face to fans who have stood by him for years with all of his scandalous bad behavior. He just didn`t give them anything. And so, you know, he deserved all the heat that he got.

It was absolutely horrible. His endless ranting, crazy montages of video that people we didn`t even know or care about. Terrible.

HAMMER: So the old cliche comes into play, "A couple hours of your life, you`ll never get back." Let me get to syndicated radio host, Carlos Diaz. Now, Carlos is guest hosting today on HLN`s "Prime News" at 6:00 p.m. Eastern.

Carlos, we`ve obviously seen Sheen fall apart a few times over. That`s being kind, right? But he always seems, as we always talk about, to end up - oh, gosh, I`m going to say it - winning in the end.

He loses big in Detroit. Some called it a win in Chicago. Overall, and I know you`re a sportsman, does the score equal a win for Charlie here?

CARLOS DIAZ, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST: I would say it`s a draw. I would have to go a draw. Maybe you`re edged on the side of the loss. I mean, A.J., you know, you and I are behind the scenes. We`re like, when we heard about this tour - like, what`s he going to do, sit up there and just rant for, like, an hour and a half?

And then he did it, and he did it in Detroit, by the way, a city that doesn`t suffer any fools. Like start in Des Moines, Iowa where they`re just happy to see you.

HAMMER: Yes.

DIAZ: Detroit, the Motor City? These people are ticked off as it is. And then, you go and just, like, experiment for an hour and a half? No, no.

HAMMER: Yes. Oh, I know people from Detroit. They don`t like it when you make fun of Detroit. He`s up on stage making fun of Detroit.

DIAZ: Yes. No -

HAMMER: And look, we`ve heard of different accounts of this wild weekend of "Sheen-sanity," as I`ve been calling it. But as we mentioned, Kareen, you were right there in Detroit for Sheen`s first show.

And you spoke with people who paid good money to see him perform or whatever it was he was calling it. Let me play a little of the reaction that you got after Sheen bombed. Watch that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He`s really not a comic, so I didn`t know what he was going to do. I thought he was going to be really good or really bad, and it was really bad.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The beginning was wonderful. (INAUDIBLE).

(CROSS TALK)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Then he got it rolling and got it going. And then, after he walks out, it just seemed like everything went downhill from there.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Honestly, I felt really bad for him. Everyone was booing (INAUDIBLE).

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The show was amazing. Everybody is a little upset because they feel that he didn`t do a hundred percent. But they knew what they were signing up for when they bought tickets. I loved it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All right. Well, at least she was happy. Unfortunately, though, I think the whole fiasco has actually reignited people`s fascination with Sheen.

Carlos, let me go back to you. Does Sheen`s big disaster just raise the curiosity factor here? Or is it going to turn the Sheen nation off?

DIAZ: I completely agree with you, A.J., as far as it reignites the fascination. I was talking to people across the country today on morning radio. And they were, like, "This is awesome, because when they come to our city, we don`t know what we`re going to get."

The worst thing Charlie could have done is had two shows exactly the same. Now, the train wreck truly is a train wreck. You`ve got to see it.

HAMMER: Well, there is still a whole lot of drama still unfolding out of Charlie`s tour. Kareen, you`re on the premiere of the "Dr. Drew Show" tonight right here at HLN at 9:00 p.m. Eastern and pacific.

WYNTER: Yes.

HAMMER: It`s a big "Torpedo" exclusive. What can we expect from that?

WYNTER: That`s right. I`ll be on HLN`s "Dr. Drew`s Show" with an amazing report, A.J., from inside the theater in Detroit, right after Charlie Sheen left the stage.

You won`t believe the wild scene I witnessed while people chanted for Charlie to get back on stage. I`ll show you exactly what happened, exclusively at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on the "Dr. Drew Show" right here on HLN. You won`t want to miss a minute, A.J.

HAMMER: We will be watching. Kareen Wynter, Carlos Diaz, I thank you both.

ANDERSON: Speaking of meltdowns, let`s move on to Meatloaf`s meltdown today. Could this be the biggest reality show meltdown ever?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MEATLOAF: You do not want to (EXPLETIVE DELETED) with me. You look in my eyes. I am the last person in the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) world you ever want to (EXPLETIVE DELETED) with!

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Whoa. Meatloaf needs his mouth washed out with a loaf of soap. Has he totally lost it acting like a bat out of hell?

Also, my incredible SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview with Reese Witherspoon. I get Reese to reveal her wedding secrets. Plus, your very first look at the picture of her wedding, next.

HAMMER: Oprah`s startling new confessions today. What really made her decide against having children?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WINFREY: I really never seriously considered having children because I was not willing to make the sacrifice required, and I do see it as an ultimate sacrifice.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Oprah`s emotional revelations are coming up. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views. It is time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - here come more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Reports: Hugh Hefner will not make fiancee Crystal Harris sign prenup. Snoop Dogg shows his support for Charlie Sheen.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SNOOP DOGG, RAPPER: Charlie Sheen is winning with a capital W-I-N-N-I-N-G - winning. He feels what he`s doing is right. I`ll support him. I`m winning, you know, so I understand what he`s going through. Sometimes, you`ve got to stand for someone (INAUDIBLE).

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Reese Witherspoon looks gorgeous - gorgeous, I tell you. This is your very first look at Reese`s wedding pictures in "People" magazine just revealed today. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you this first look.

Reese married Hollywood agent, Jim Toth, on March 26 in Ojai, California. And "People" is revealing today that the wedding theme combined with Reese`s southern roots with inspiration from her 1920s ranch.

As for the dress, she wore a custom-designed Monique Lhuillier blush- colored gown. You want to see more? I know you do. Grab a copy of "People" on newsstands right this minute.

And welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Brooke Anderson is in Hollywood. And now, a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview with Reese Witherspoon.

ANDERSON: A.J., the fact that you just said "blush-colored gown" makes me really, really happy. I just have to tell you that.

All right. I did just sit down with Reese, whose new movie is called "Water for Elephants," based on a great book. And I had to ask her what it`s like to have so many people wanting to know absolutely everything about her wedding. I also got her to reveal if she`s got a honeymoon lined up.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(on camera) Congratulations.

REESE WITHERSPOON, ACTRESS: Thank you.

ANDERSON: You`re a newlywed.

WITHERSPOON: Yes.

ANDERSON: How is married life treating you?

WITHERSPOON: Great. I`ve only been married for five days maybe.

ANDERSON: Shouldn`t you be going on a honeymoon?

WITHERSPOON: I`ll be going on a honeymoon soon. I just have to do a little bit of work.

ANDERSON: And I`m sure you`re not disclosing where you`re going on your honeymoon.

WITHERSPOON: Well, I thought about telling everyone, but I thought it wouldn`t be a very fun honeymoon if everybody knew where we`re going.

ANDERSON: Maybe after, we`ll find out and then that can be a vacation destination for the rest of us.

WITHERSPOON: Maybe.

ANDERSON: It will be fabulous.

WITHERSPOON: Maybe.

ANDERSON: Why do you think there is so much public interest in your wedding? Because that is - that has to be an odd feeling for a person.

WITHERSPOON: Well, I think, you know, it`s sort of - you know, I have no idea why me. But I think women are interested in other women`s lives. And you know, I used to sort of be conflicted about it.

And then, I sort of feel it`s sort of a gift. You know, it`s a wonderful gift that I have so much love coming at me and people are so supportive and caring.

And you know, it`s afforded me great opportunities in life to make movies that I love, to travel all over the world. And I`ve been very, very blessed.

ANDERSON: OK, last question. Can you share your favorite memory from your wedding?

WITHERSPOON: From my wedding?

ANDERSON: Yes.

WITHERSPOON: Oh, gosh.

ANDERSON: Speaking of interested -

WITHERSPOON: Are you - yes. I know - I mean, it`s just always wonderful to be with family and friends and, you know, your children. And it`s a wonderful time to celebrate.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: She had the glow of a newlywed. Reese`s co-star in "Water for Elephants" is "Twilight" star, Robert Pattinson. So you have two megastars in this film. You`ve got to listen to what Reese told me. She explained that that made for some very interesting and honestly somewhat creepy moments on the set. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(on camera) You and Rob are so famous that, at times, I`m sure it can be constricting or interfere with your daily life. Did you and he ever talk about that on set? I`m sure you can kind of sympathize with one another about those challenges.

WITHERSPOON: Yes. I mean, certainly it comes up because, you know, we both are very private people and want to maintain our privacy so, yes. I mean, I think, you know, if anything we were just trying to protect the work environment so, you know, people didn`t find out too much about the movie before it came out.

ANDERSON: Were there fans who would descend on set or in the area? Did that happen?

WITHERSPOON: People were trying to get on set a lot. You know, people would go up to security and say, "I`m Reese`s best friend," or you know, "I`m here - I`m a reporter from `Vogue.` I`m supposed to be on set."

ANDERSON: No -

WITHERSPOON: Oh, yes. And so people are - our security guards would come out and say, "Are you supposed to be doing an interview?" And we`re like, no. So -

ANDERSON: People would just lie to try to get their way closer to you.

WITHERSPOON: Yes. Yes. To him.

ANDERSON: Yes. Yes.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

I also want to tell you that I`ll have a full SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview with Robert Pattinson tomorrow. He opens up to me about life after "Twilight" right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

HAMMER: Well, I hope you`re ready because today, it` Meatloaf in what could be the biggest reality show meltdown ever.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MEATLOAF: I`m sick and tired of (EXPLETIVE DELETED). (EXPLETIVE DELETED) you, (EXPLETIVE DELETED)!

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Wait. Is this the same guy who sang "I Would Do Anything for Love"? Definitely no love here, just a bat out of hell.

ANDERSON: Dating Kate Gosselin. Kate reveals how she`s dipping her toe back into the whole dating thing. Coming up.

HAMMER: Inside Charlie Sheen`s shows. The very first interview with Charlie just after a Chicago comeback show. And a blockbuster SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview with Kacey Jordan, a porn star who partied with Charlie and was right there at Charlie`s opening night Detroit disaster.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JORDAN: I`m just proud he`s on right track again. I kind feel like I should be here because I kind of started this whole thing, so I`m here to support him.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views. It`s time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Governor, will you be returning to your life as a movie star?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez - they`re dating, but will they go on tour together, too? Elizabeth Hurley`s shocking split after four years of marriage. And is she or isn`t she? Is Katie Couric really leaving CBS? All making big news in "The Buzz Today."

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over) Katie Couric`s CBS cliff hanger. Reports are flying that Couric may be leaving CBS to start her own talk show. But neither side will confirm Couric`s departure.

A spokesperson for CBS will only tell SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "We`re having ongoing discussions with Katie Couric. We have no announcements to make at this time. Until we do, we will continue to decline comment on rumor and speculation."

Elizabeth Hurley`s divorce drama. A London newspaper is reporting that Elizabeth Hurley has officially filed from divorce from her husband, Arun Nayar, after four years of marriage.

U.K.`s "Daily Mail" says Hurley is officially blaming Nayar`s, quote, "unreasonable behavior" for the split. Back in December, Hurley revealed the couple had been separated after she was caught publicly kissing an Australian cricket star.

A Bieber revelation? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards when Selena Gomez set reports straight about reports that her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, would appear on her tour. She told us -

SELENA GOMEZ, SINGER AND ACTRESS: Probably not. No. It`s going to be my tour.

HAMMER: Sounds like there just may be a chance it could still happen.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: Sammy Hagar is way out there literally. In his new book, "Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock," the former Van Halen frontman claims he was abducted by aliens.

On tonight`s premiere episode of "Dr. Drew" here on HLN, Sammy recalls his "X-Files" moment.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SAMMY HAGAR, MUSICIAN: I`m dreaming. I see these guys in my head. I see these -

DR. DREW PINSKY, HOST, "THE DR. DREW SHOW": What did they look like?

HAGAR: They were just kind of like beams of light, you know, and they were kind of blue, OK? And with no features. It was a close up.

I didn`t, you know - it was kind of - and I`m dreaming and they`re going, "Oh, he`s waking up. We`ve got to end this, right?" But it wasn`t language spoken. It was a telepathic thing.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: That is just a taste of what you can expect on "The Dr. Drew Pinsky Show" here on HLN. "Dr. Drew" airs weeknights, 9:00 p.m. Eastern.

HAMMER: Here`s what`s coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. What are you going to do when you see Snooki at "Wrestlemania?" You will really flip for this. It`s coming up.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - inside the Sheen show. Right now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you our continuing coverage of Charlie Sheen`s near-disastrous launch of his "Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour.

We were there every step of the way from the debacle in Detroit to his comeback in Chicago over the weekend. And right now, we are bringing you remarkable revelations from the porn star who partied with Charlie during his epic bender and breaking news about an exclusive interview with Sheen after his show last night.

At his first stop in Detroit, Charlie nearly got booed off the stage. People shouting at him, demanding a refund, refund.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter was right there in Detroit, had an incredible before-and-after conversation with the porn star before the show and after the show. Kareen is back and in Hollywood today. Kareen, what happened?

WYNTER: Well, Brooke, I have to say inside the Fox Theater on Saturday night, the atmosphere - it was absolutely, positively electric before Charlie took the stage. And I spoke with porn star, Kacey Jordan.

She partied with Sheen back in January leading up to his hospitalization after going on an epic bender. Kacey told me she wanted to be at Charlie`s opening show to give him the props she says he deserves. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JORDAN: I`m proud of what he`s doing and how he`s come out of, you know, a really dark place. And now, he`s - it`s towards this comedy thing. He`s slipping everything around.

And I think that - well, I`m just proud he`s on right track again. I kind feel like I should be here because I kind of started this whole thing, so I`m here to support him and I think he`s doing much better now.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

WYNTER: And like so many of Sheen`s fans, Kacey - she went into Sheen`s Detroit show with such high hopes. But Brooke, I`ve got to tell you after Sheen`s shameful - that`s right, shameful performance with much of the crowd booing him all night long, I talked to Kacey Jordan again, only this time Kacey was singing a completely different tune about the Sheen she saw on stage. Watch what she told me.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JORDAN: He was doing so good in the beginning. But then, after a while, people were kind of tired because he was just repeating, you know, what he says on Twitter and what he says on his interviews.

You know, he`s stretching out making fun of himself. And we all - you know, the whole reason why anybody`s intrigued, which is sad, was because, you know, he was messed up and not sober. And now, the fact that he`s sober and doing good, you know, we have no interest. And you know, it`s sad to see that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

WYNTER: So sad to see that, indeed. And Brooke, Kacey - she also told me that she`s really scared for Charlie and also worried that his failing in Detroit - well, that it might affect his recovery.

We know that Sheen turned things around for his Chicago show on Sunday night. He scrapped his original format. He threw it all out the window and magically, just like that, turned the jeers into cheers. But A.J., who knows what Charlie`s next performance will bring. All eyes will be on that. Now, back to you, A.J.

HAMMER: No kidding. Who knows, indeed? And you can definitely catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter tonight. You won`t want to miss this on the premiere of tonight`s HLN`s "Dr. Drew Show" 9:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.

Kareen has an amazing report from right inside the theater in Detroit, right after Charlie Sheen just left the stage. But Chicago -that was a whole different story. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was also there and I can tell you Charlie got more cheers than jeers.

Charlie actually read out loud a letter that one of his so-called goddesses wrote to him. You`ve got to see this to believe it.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SHEEN: You are the change I wish to see in the world and on that merit alone, I happily pledge my loyalty now and forever with violent love and divine admiration, always yours, Natty Napalm.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK. So here`s what I want to know - how does Charlie Sheen think he did? Ken Baker, who is the chief news correspondent for "E," was also right there in Chicago. And he sat down with Charlie for an exclusive interview.

Well, when I spoke with Ken this afternoon, I asked him about Charlie`s state of mind and everything in between.

OK Ken, you were the only person who talked with Charlie after his show Chicago, which followed, of course, the disastrous launch of his "Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour in Detroit. Was he in a winning state of mind when you spoke with him?

KEN BAKER, CHIEF NEWS CORRESPONDENT, "E!": He definitely was. In fact, you know, literally, the curtain came down. I was on the side in the wings. I came right out. And he was sort of like, you know, "How was it?"

You know, I mean, he was very much kind of humbled by it all. And he told me - he said, "Look, it didn`t work in Detroit." He goes, "You`ve got to go with what got you to the dance," and that was him going back to basics, as he called it.

And he seemed really happy about it. And in fact, of course, he said, "I won." So he was definitely pleased with it.

HAMMER: What did he say specifically, Ken, about what went so wrong in Detroit and so right in Chicago?

BAKER: Well, he told me that a lot of the pre-produced videos that he put out - he said that`s good stuff for YouTube, but a lot of it - just the audio didn`t play to the crowd. It was too difficult.

And he said, "Look, they just want to hear from me," and that`s what he wanted to focus on. He also just said - look, you know, he didn`t really give a lot of time to rehearse the show.

And if you`re going to produce a lot of theatrics, then that stuff you have to work out. And he just figured, "Look, people want to hear from me. They want to open up my brain and peer inside," and that`s what he did in Chicago, and I think that`s why it worked.

HAMMER: And Ken, you know, all that said, you`re like me. I know you`ve been reading all about this today and all of the reviews. You know there are already conspiracy theories out there today suggesting that Charlie actually planned the first show to be the spectacular failure so to lower expectations moving forward.

And just like SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter, you were inside both shows. Can you tell me if you think there`s any truth to those conspiracy theories?

BAKER: Honestly, no. I don`t believe it at all. I was very close to a lot of people in the camp. I was talking to him the whole time. Look it, they were definitely on, you know, code red alert in Detroit.

They didn`t know what they were going to do. When they were on the bus from Detroit to Chicago, they were literally making it up as they went along saying, "What are we going to do?"

Charlie told me he was up until 5:00 in the morning, working it out. He got to the theater at 8:30 in the morning - 12 hours before the show was to start - and just wanted to figure out a way to make it work.

This was not planned at all. I mean, it was literally an entirely different show. And the people who saw it in Detroit saw something totally different than the people in Chicago. And trust me, that was not planned.

HAMMER: Yes. Imagine their panic going into that Chicago show. So what else did Charlie tell you after the Chicago show, Ken, that you think is big news today that we`re not hearing about yet?

BAKER: Well, I think what Charlie really wanted people to know is that he`s going to just evolve the show as he goes along. He has 20 more dates left over the next month or so. He`s coming to Radio City Music Hall in the next few days.

And he just wants people to realize that he`s going it put out the best show that he can, the most honest, candid show every night and that he might just tweak it from show to show, that it will never be the same twice and that`s the way he wants to keep it.

I think the expectations were definitely lowered. And I think for that reason, the fans were willing to sort of go along on the ride with him. And for the most part, they really enjoyed it.

HAMMER: You know, Ken, we interviewed porn star Kacey Jordan in Detroit. She was with Charlie, of course, the night of that epic bender that landed him in the hospital.

And she told us she was worried about his sobriety. So when you spoke with Charlie, did you get any sense, Ken, that he may not be sober and in complete control of himself these days?

BAKER: I`ll tell you what, he`s using. He`s using cigarettes. I think I still smell like cigarettes right now because he`s puffing cigarettes all night long.

But to be honest with you, A.J., literally, I stood with him for quite some time on the stage. I was around him and I talked to a lot of people who have been with him. To me, he seemed sober.

He didn`t seem to be on anything. He seemed to be really composed and contained within himself. So it didn`t seem like he was someone who was on drugs or drinking or anything like that.

And trust me, that was one of the first things I looked for. You know, I was face to face with the guy and he just seemed to be, if anything, just a little bit exhausted and sleep-deprived.

But you know, I did speak to Kacey Jordan as well, the porn star, and she did go to the Detroit show. And she said to me that she was disappointed that night because she thought people came to see Charlie drugged up and not sober Charlie.

When they saw sober Charlie, they were disappointed. But you know what? I think we saw sober Charlie in Chicago the next night and he put on a good show.

HAMMER: Yes. And as we`ve seen, his M.O. kind of is, if he`s got something to keep his attention focused, he`s not using. All right. Ken Baker, thanks as always. Good to see you.

BAKER: Thanks.

MILEY CYRUS, SINGER AND ACTRESS: I jam Rebecca Black. And by the way, I know every word of "Friday." So you can just call me like whatever. I just think it`s nice if you have to go to a record label or go into a studio and get told no because it makes you more appreciative.

But God will always choose the time that the people get to, you know, reach their star and become famous and whatever it is. So more power to you, girlfriend.

HAMMER: Meatloaf`s epic meltdown last night on "Celebrity Apprentice." I`ve got to tell you I thought he was going to rip off Gary Busey`s head.

Good thing Mark McGrath was right there to hold him back. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT dares to ask was this the biggest reality show meltdown ever?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. The great debate over Meatloaf`s meltdown, Broke, and more of the astonishing video in just a moment. But first, you`ve got to get to Oprah`s startling new confession.

ANDERSON: Yes, A.J. Today, we really do have an Oprah shocker. We all know that Oprah is pretty much an open book. But today, there are brand- new revelations from Oprah on why she decided not to have children.

With me now is Bonnie Fuller, who is the president and editor-in-chief of "HollywoodLife.com." Bonnie, I`m a mother, you`re a mother, so we both have an interesting perspective on this.

First, I want to watch together what Oprah just revealed last night on "Master Class", the show on her network, OWN. This is really something.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WINFREY: I really never seriously considered having children because I was not willing to make the sacrifice required, and I do see it as an ultimate sacrifice.

I think that the decision to have a child is the decision that you make in sacrifice. And so I didn`t have children because I knew that to have the life that I have and to be able to create the platform that I have, it was more important for me to be a teacher. That was the burning fire in my heart.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Wow. Bonnie, I`ve got to say I applaud Oprah because I think it takes a wise, mature person to decide not to have a child when they know that they can`t give that child the love, the dedication that she deserves or that child deserves.

But Bonnie, at the same time I would have to imagine that some of Oprah`s core audience, who are mothers, might feel a huge disconnect after hearing what Oprah had to say about having children. What do you think?

BONNIE FULLER, PRESIDENT AND EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, "HOLLYWOODLIFE.COM": Actually, I think that her audience, her audience that loves her, will applaud her for being open about this.

I`m sure they`ve wondered why Oprah never decided to have children. And I think the thing, too, is they know Oprah`s history. She had a horrible childhood. She was abused.

ANDERSON: Yes.

FULLER: And I think that they`re going to read between the lines. This was not just about Oprah not being willing to make a sacrifice. It was about Oprah I think being fearful of having a child because of her own history.

ANDERSON: yes. It is very understandable and I so admire Oprah for opening up about this. I really do applaud her. Entertainment journalist, Kelley Carter, also joins us. Kelley, do you think, though, there would be a disconnect?

Or do you think a lot of women are like us, applauding Oprah for speaking out about the tough choice that she made?

KELLEY CARTER, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: You know, absolutely, Brooke. I think that a lot of women will applaud her. And I don`t think this revelation will alienate her from her core audience at all.

The thing that people love about Oprah Winfrey is she`s just so raw and so honest. And this is just another example of that honesty.

ANDERSON: Yes. Absolutely. All right, ladies, we`ve got to move now to another story making news today and it`s Meatloaf`s meltdown. A.J., what in the world was Meatloaf so upset about?

HAMMER: And he`s so upset, Brooke. He sounds like a madman. You know, it turns out Meatloaf will do anything for love, but apparently not for art supplies. That`s because that turns him into a bat out of hell - thank you. Couldn`t resist.

Anyway, Meatloaf`s epic melt down on "Celebrity Apprentice" last night happened after Meatloaf thought his fellow cast mate, Gary Busey, god forbid, took his paint. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MEATLOAF: (EXPLETIVE DELETED)!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What`s up?

MEATLOAF: I bought those (EXPLETIVE DELETED) sponges. Part of that paint is mine. I`m (EXPLETIVE DELETED) sick and tired of you (EXPLETIVE DELETED)!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No, no, no, no.

GARY BUSEY, ACTOR: Hey. That was all mine in my basket.

MEATLOAF: (EXPLETIVE DELETED), mother (EXPLETIVE DELETED)!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hold on. Hold on.

MEATLOAF: You don`t want to make - you do not want to (EXPLETIVE DELETED) start with me.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Meat, don`t do it. Don`t do it.

MEATLOAF: You do not want to (EXPLETIVE DELETED) start with me. You look in my eyes. I am the last person in the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) world you ever want to (EXPLETIVE DELETED) with!

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. I`m looking in his eyes. I`m feeling that`s probably pretty true. Meatloaf, though, you might want to try the decaf, buddy.

Listen, people everywhere today were talking about this saying this was the biggest reality show meltdown ever. Certainly ranks up there.

I`ve got to say I think we`ve seen bigger meltdowns perhaps on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." You remember when they flipped over the table?

But what do you think, Bonnie? Let me go to you. You followed all these moments in reality TV history. Biggest reality show meltdown ever right there?

FULLER: I think this is a top contender. I am with you. I think that the New Jersey housewives - I mean, they`ve been epic. But also, "Celebrity Apprentice" - let`s not forget Melissa and Joan Rivers -

HAMMER: Right.

FULLER: When is Melissa quit and then she had a meltdown and then Joan quit. I mean, that was a doozy, too.

HAMMER: But that was scary, scary stuff. All right. Bonnie Fuller, Kelley, thank you both so much.

ANDERSON: Speaking of meltdowns, Snooki has had a few. Now, we`ve got to talk about her dramatic new fight. I know that that`s not exactly a shocker. But here`s the twist, she is throwing down in the ring at "Wrestlemania."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She`s got a lot of confidence.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Look at this!

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Snooki squared, circle smackdown, next. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views

And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Kris Jenner writing a book about Kardashian clan and her late husband, Robert. Lady Gaga will kick off "Good Morning America`s" summer concert series.

(MUSIC)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Snooki gets the tag. We`re going to find out. She`s got a lot of confidence.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Look at this!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Snooki.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Did you see that?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Snooki`s big win. The "Jersey Shore" star pins Michelle McCool at "Wrestlemania XXVII." Snooki`s secret weapon - well, her gymnastic skills. Yes, that was really her. She was a gymnast and a high school cheerleader. And I guess doing splits and flips and bars on "Jersey Shore" finally paid off for her. Who knew?

Right now, it`s Kate plus date. Reality TV star, Kate Gosselin reveals how she`s reentering the dating world after her nasty public marriage meltdown.

It`s no shock that being a mom of eight poses challenges when it comes to dating. But this morning on the "Today" show, Kate revealed it`s tough but not impossible to win her heart.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MATT LAUER, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: And you said you don`t have much hope for yourself there, that you`ve been on about a half a date since you`ve been divorced. First of all, what`s a half a date? I don`t know how you define that.

KATE GOSSELIN, REALITY TV STAR: I don`t know.

LAUER: But why do you think it`s so tough?

K. GOSSELIN: Well, you start out the first time around and you`re some single girl with, you know, not a lot of baggage or issues.

And I like to have fun and I don`t have a lot of time for myself. I do have eight kids. I feel like I have, you know, my life together pretty much. But you know, let`s be honest. It`s going to take a strong person to wrangle this mess.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, I`m thinking Kate is one strong force herself. She also told Matt Lauer her recent 21-hour flight with her eight kids to Australia was actually one of the best in her life - 21 hours, eight kids under 10 years old. Wow.

Well, you can go along for the ride on the season premiere of "Kate Plus 8" on TLC.

ANDERSON: We`ve been getting a lot of posts on our Facebook wall today about Charlie Sheen`s Detroit disaster, then his big comeback in Chicago, A.J.

HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. A whole lot of our viewers are hating on Charlie right now. But check out these two. Nicholas M. thinks the tour will get better writing, "I`m going to be the one person who says that his next show will be better. Yes, he bombed, but he`s still richer than everyone who has posted on this thread. LOL."

ANDERSON: Bert A. adds, "He`s an actor, not a comic. All his lines were written for him on `Two and a Half Men.` Give me a break. What do these people expect? Someone funny like George Carlin or Bill Cosby?

HAMMER: We would love for you to connect with us and join our debates on Facebook. We are ShowbizTonightHLN there. Follow @ShowbizTonight on Twitter for breaking entertainment news alerts.

ANDERSON: Call us at "Showbiz on Call," 1-888-SBT-BUZZ. And there`s always E-mail, showbiztonight@cnn.com. And A.J., I have to say that I think Bert A. makes an excellent point. I mean, what did people expect? Seinfeld?

He`s not a standup comedian and spiffy one-line tweets are entirely different from trying to entertain on stage for an hour and a half or two hours.

HAMMER: Yes, that`s exactly what I thought, too, because after all, I think most people were going there to see a train wreck on stage.

And that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thanks for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday.

HAMMER: And don`t forget we`re still TV`s most provocative entertainment news show at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific here on HLN.
