Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: Hi there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson, coming to you from Hollywood with a Tori tell-all. A very pregnant again Tori Spelling is dropping bombshell after bombshell in a new tell-all book including a sex shocker involving the cast of "Beverly Hills 90210." The intimate, and we do mean intimate details you have never heard before are coming up.

But first, oh, baby. Once again, a major Hollywood star is getting ready to possibly be paid millions for the very first picture of her newborn baby. Now, most of us will show off our pictures of our new babies to anybody who will look at them and that`s that. But can you ever imagine getting millions of dollars for them? And is it just plain wrong for stars to be cashing in on their newborns? Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is investigating the big buck baby boom.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice over): Coming soon, an exciting new collaboration between two married megastars, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony has everyone talking. It`s reportedly sparked a bidding war with big bucks. Could it be a new album? A new movie? Not quite.

Even before giving birth, a very pregnant J-Lo and Marc Anthony reportedly scored a big payday for the first baby pictures. "Advertising Age" reports "People" magazine is going to pay them between $4 million and $6 million for the pics. That`s close to what the J-Lo flop "Gigli" made in the theaters.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNIFER LOPEZ, ACTRESS AND SINGER: You`re not my type.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

JO PIAZZA, "NEW YORK DAILY NEWS": This is absolutely the most anticipated production for both J-Lo and Marc Anthony. These two don`t need to go into the studio again for years. They could live off this baby picture money.

HAMMER: Christina Aguilera is on the cover of "People" with her new baby in pics that have reportedly fetched $2 million to $3 million. "People" also reportedly dished out a cool million for Nicole Richie and Joe Madden`s newborn. And pregnant teen star Jamie Lynn Spears reportedly scored a $1 million payday from "OK!" magazine for photos of her unborn child.

PIAZZA: It seems a little excessive.

HAMMER: Excessive or not, celebrity magazines don`t confirm what, if anything, they pay for celebrity baby photos. Still, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you, celebrity bundles of joy are making bundles of money. And that`s nothing to cry about.

The magazines that feature the celebrity babies often get something out of the arrangement - big sales. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes gave "Vanity Fair" the first pictures of Suri absolutely free, and sales of "Vanity Fair`s" Suri issue were 60 percent higher than normal.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reportedly gave the $4 million they got for the first picture of baby Shiloh to charity. But the biggest beneficiary was "People" magazine. Its Shiloh photo issue was up 45 percent.

KIM SERAFIN, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": I like to see baby photos of celebrity babies.

HAMMER: "In Touch Weekly`s" Kim Serafin tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT there`s a certain appeal in these celebrity baby photos.

SERAFIN: It humanizes them. It makes them seem just like one of us.

HAMMER: OK, there might be a morbid curiosity factor, too.

PIAZZA: There are these young, beautiful couples, and you kind of want to see if the baby isn`t cute, too. You get really excited to see if you`re like, "Oh no. Look what these beautiful people made."

HAMMER: But not every celebu-spawn means big sales. The "New York Post" reports "People`s" Christina Aguilera issue is selling at or below average. Last year`s "OK!" magazine photo spread with Bridget Moynahan and her child with ex-boyfriend quarterback Tom Brady wasn`t a big seller. And neither was the 2005 "People" featuring Britney Spears and Kevin Federline`s first born, Sean Preston. Now, Hollywood babies have to worry about their marketing potential too.

SERAFIN: You could be just like a celebrity kindergarten class. Well, how much did your baby photos get? No, how much did your baby photos get? That`s Hollywood for you.

HAMMER: Still, the Hollywood baby star machine continues to churn out multimillion dollar deals for star babies, which might be lucrative news for pregnant superstars like Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry and Jessica Alba.

PIAZZA: It`s a paid vacation. You pop out a baby, take some pictures of it and you`re set for what, a year. You don`t really have to do anything.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Let me just put this in perspective for you because I find this fascinating. If J-Lo got as much as let`s say $6 million for pictures of her twins, that would be more than the gross domestic product of the Virgin Islands, Bermuda and Fiji combined. It`s true; we looked it up. What is it with celebrity baby pictures anyway?

Joining us tonight from Hollywood, Jane Velez-Mitchell, investigative journalist and author of "secrets Can Be Murder." Here in New York with us tonight, founder of Spotlight Communications, Maggie Gallant.

Jane Velez-Mitchell, Maggie, let`s get into this. One of the things that I can`t help but notice as we were gearing up to do this, a lot of the same stars who, you know, we very often complaining about protecting their privacy. They`re always the first ones, it seems, to arrange these multimillion dollar deals. And Jane, I don`t know about you, but to me, it seems a little hypocritical.

JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Well, A.J., it`s not just hypocritical, I think it`s morally reprehensible. Essentially, they are taking their child, turning it into a commodity, putting it on the auction block and selling it to the highest bidder. That has to have very negative repercussions emotionally and psychologically to the child as it becomes older and learns about this. Because the one thing that children crave more than anything else is unconditional love from their parents, not how much money they were able to make for their parents.

I actually think this should be illegal, just as there is the Jackie Coogan Law based on the famous child actor who was ripped off by his parents. Jackie Coogan, which controls how the money the child actor is distributed and held in trust. I think this money that they make should be held in a trust for the child until it reaches adulthood. So it`s the child`s money.

HAMMER: Wow. Jane, well, if you are outraged about the baby pictures, I can only imagine how you feel about the baby bump pictures that are making big money. They`re already put in deals together when the kids are, you know, cooking in there.

I mentioned that Britney Spears` kid sister reportedly getting $1 million from "OK!" magazine for the exclusive rights to her story. I know it`s a big story, but this seems crazy to me. Eventually, "OK!" is also going to get the baby pictures in this deal. Maggie, is it just starting to get a little ridiculous?

MAGGIE GALLANT, FOUNDER, SPOTLIGHT COMMUNICATIONS: Well, let me also say that I completely disagree. This is not like putting your child on the auction block. Someone is going to get these photos. It`s about supply and demand and these parents are controlling who gets the first photo. And by offering up this first photo, you`re taking the crazy level of the paparazzi. You`re limiting the monetary value because it`s already offered and you`re keeping that child -

(CROSS TALK)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: You`ve heard my point; you said supply and demand. That is commoditizing your child and I just think it`s absolutely inappropriate and it does have psychological repercussions. The same parent who is able to this is the parent who is going to turn their child into a commodity in other ways. This is just a symptom of a deeper problem, I assure you.

HAMMER: Maggie, imagine having to have that conversation with your child when they`re old enough, "Hey, you know, we got these pictures taken of you and we got millions of dollars for them. And by the way, we did it because (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

(CROSS TALK)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And we spent the money.

HAMMER: Yes. All right. Let`s move on then. You know, one of the things I`m a little confused by - and Maggie, you can probably shed some light on this for me - why people are so fascinated by celebrity babies, that the magazines are willing to shell out these millions of dollars to put them on the cover. Is it really image control when it comes down to it?

GALLANT: Well, it`s a staged photo, so you can definitely call it controlling the image for sure. But it`s also the babies that were the most interested in are the ones that are the product of the love affair between two different celebrities like Brad and Angelina, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. We want to see the product of that love affair, so we want the first look.

HAMMER: Well, we do love the fact that in the case, let`s say, of Brad and Angelina - you know, they didn`t keep the money. They`ve got a whole bunch for Shiloh`s first pictures and money went to charity. Jane, would you say that is definitely the way to go?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: That is definitely the way to go, because it`s not about them making money for themselves. It`s about turning the world into a better place. They reportedly gave these millions that they earned to charities for African children. There are plenty of other wonderful charities. For example, children who need operations to repair a cleft palate. You could change the lives of millions of kids. And then, when the star child grows up, you could say, "Hey, honey, I didn`t do it for the money. I did it to make the world a better place."

HAMMER: That would be a good start to be able to tell them. Real quickly, I do find it interesting as we pointed out in our story, big celeb payouts don`t always add up to these blockbuster magazine sales.

You know, if you take a look at what happened with "People" magazine, sales were down for Britney and K-Fed`s child Sean Preston`s first pictures. "People" did see a 45 percent bump for the Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. "Vanity Fair" Huge jump in circulation for Suri Cruise. So Maggie, no real guarantee that paying millions is going to make millions. Kind of a gamble.

GALLANT: Well, it`s also about the long-term reputation of that particular magazine and getting the first story about a marriage or, especially in this case, a baby. That means there`s a go-to source for celebrities to tell their stories. And that makes a big difference to readers for sure.

HAMMER: Yes. And that`s a good relationship, I suppose, for magazines to have with those big stars. Maggie Gallant, Jane Velez-Mitchell, I thank you for being with us tonight.

And now I want to turn it over to you. Let me know what you think about this. Our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day, "Celebrity baby photos: Is it OK for stars to sell them for millions?"

Let us know at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. The E-mail address if you have more to say, showbiztonight@cnn.com.

ANDERSON: All right. I`ve got big breaking Britney Spears` news tonight, two huge defeats for Britney in court. She can`t see her kids and now Britney new lawyer loses the fight to get a gag order in the case. I`ve got to wonder, will Britney ever get a break and what will this do to her mental state? We`re getting into all of that, coming up.

HAMMER: Also Kirstie Alley`s diet war. I don`t know about you, but I was as surprised as most people to hear that Kirstie was actually out as a Jenny Craig spokesperson. Loved seeing her in those commercials all these years. Well, now, we`ve got the inside story of why Kirstie really left and her startling plans for her next move. That is coming up.

ANDERSON: And Donna Martin, remember her? Well, she graduates to a steamy, tell-all book. All right. I was a big "90210" fan, so if you`re like me, you`re not going to believe what Tori Spelling is spelling out in her new memoir. Sex secrets from the cast, who slept with whom - it is really shocking stuff. You don`t want to miss it. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is coming right back. Stay with us.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Surprising new developments in the Britney Spears` drama. Will Britney finally get to see her kids?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT bringing you the latest breaking Britney news.

And big news today about a request to make Britney`s battle for control of her estate a federal case. The federal court reportedly called it ridiculous. And in another new development, just when she thought she might be able to finally see her kids, tonight, Britney is out of luck, again. And her new lawyer has lost yet another battle to make everyone involved in the case keep their big mouth shut.

Tonight from New York, legal analyst for CNN`s "American Morning," Sonny Hostin(ph). And in Hollywood, "Extra" correspondent, Carlos Diaz. Sonny, Carlos, great to see you. And you know, most prominent attorneys have been saying all along that the attempt by an attorney to get Britney`s fight to regain control of her estate to a federal court, that it was out in left field, most likely not going to happen.

Well, today, a federal judge demanded to know who was behind this wacky idea. Carlos, would it surprise you if Britney`s former so-called manager, Sam Lutfi, who`s been ordered to stay away from her, was behind all of this?

CARLOS DIAZ, CORRESPONDENT, "EXTRA": That wouldn`t surprise me at all. I mean, you know, he is kind of desperately trying to talk to different people, both in the media and out, and that would be right up his alley. But as we`ve learned already today, basically, the federal judge is like, "OK. What`s going on here? You got until February 29th to tell me why I should even listen to this case."

ANDERSON: Yes. I would be stunned if a federal court even grants a hearing on it. And the premise of this whole thing all along has been this attorney who claims to represent Britney Spears. This attorney says her civil rights have been violated because she can no longer control her affairs. Sonny Hostin, does he have a leg to stand on?

SONNY HOSTIN, LEGAL ANALYST, "AMERICAN MORNING": I don`t think he has a leg to stand on at all. I have to tell you that I read his paperwork, trying to get the case into federal court. And I read, more importantly, Britney Spears` father`s response to it. And what`s very interesting is I think there`s no question that Sam Lutfi is behind it. Because, in fact, when the papers were filed, Sam Lutfi`s publicist was the person who filed it and passed all the paperwork out to the media. So there is no question that Lutfi is behind this.

And the argument from Britney Spears` father is, listen, he`s not even her attorney. The court found that she didn`t have the capacity to hire anyone. And second of all, there is no federal question. I think the bombshell, though, that we are seeing in this paperwork is that Lutfi`s henchman is really accusing Britney Spears` father of supplementing her medications. And that was supposed to be sort of the federal hook for them that under the Federal Drug and Cosmetics Act, that he was not supposed to be doing this. But after you read it, any lawyer that reads it, it`s so obvious that it`s just coming out of left field and has no chance of winning at all.

ANDERSON: Oh, the drama, the drama, Sonny. And you know, in another new development, a judge has just ruled that Britney still can`t see her kids because basically the two sides couldn`t agree on a plan for visitation. Well, asked SHOWBIZ TONIGHT viewers to vote on this question - "Britney Spears` custody hearing: Should she now be allowed to visit her children?" It was split almost down the middle; 53 percent saying yes, 47 percent saying no. Carlos, a lot of mixed feelings about this. Why do you think that is?

DIAZ: Because a lot of people are saying that Britney, you know, has been away from her kids now for almost two months. And it`s kind of cruel, even though Britney has been in a weird mental state for the last several months, to have a mom away from her newborn sons for that long. I`m surprised that she didn`t get some kind of supervised visitation where maybe her dad is with her when she visits. And K-Fed even wanted that. So I`m really surprised that there wasn`t any headway into maybe some kind of supervised visitation with Britney and her two boys.

ANDERSON: Me, too, you know. And yet another development, Britney`s attorneys are trying to get the judge to impose a gag order so that everybody just shuts up. Well, the judge has denied this. Britney`s attorney said the media coverage is emotionally and physically dangerous to Britney. Sonny, what do you think? Did the judge do the right thing?

HOSTIN: The judge probably did the right thing here. I mean the question really is what`s in the best interest of the children? And in terms of the gag order, judges are really reluctant to impose these gag orders, just as they`re reluctant to keep cameras out of the courtroom. Our judicial system is supposed to be open to the public. And so I think he probably did the right thing here.

ANDERSON: OK. Sonny Hostin, Carlos Diaz, we thank you both for your time tonight and for sharing your insights.

HOSTIN: Thank you.

HAMMER: Moving on now, Lindsay Lohan`s shocking new photo shoot as Marilyn Monroe. Wow. Have you seen this? And get this. Not only is Lindsay`s mom defending Lindsay`s decision to bare all, Dinah Lohan, her mom, also says it was just fine with her that Lindsay`s 14-year-old sister tagged along for the nude photo shoot. When did that happen? Coming up, the fallout and the freak-out over Lindsay`s stunning photos.

ANDERSON: Also, Kirstie Alley`s diet war. I was as surprised as anybody to hear that Kirstie was out as a Jenny Craig spokesperson. She was so great in those commercials. Well, now we have the inside story of why Kirstie really left and her startling plans for her next move. That`s coming up.

HAMMER: And Spelling counts. I`m talking about Tori Spelling. She has a new tell-all book. Let me tell you something about this thing. It is jam- packed with shocking secrets. I`m talking who slept with whom in the cast of "90210," the real reason behind the Spelling family feud after her dad died. You definitely will not want to miss this. And it is coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

HASSELBECK: No, no. I know. I`m just saying this sometimes this happens whenever you`re having a conversation.

GOLDBERG: Right. I stopped. So you go ahead and finish.

HASSELBECK: I`m good.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yikes. Kind of reminds me of that big fight when Elizabeth and Rosie. Well, at least there was no split screen going on this time. And it does look like Whoopi and Elizabeth made up.

Well, China is not too happy about Steven Spielberg`s decision to quit as an artistic adviser for the Beijing Olympics. Now, Spielberg pulled out saying China hasn`t done enough in Darfur. Now, China`s state-run media is blasting Spielberg, calling him naive and unreasonable and saying that he lives in a world of science fiction, just like his movies.

Amy Winehouse is scheduled to perform at the British equivalent of the Grammys. But after winning five Grammys, Winehouse isn`t even nominated for the any of the Brit award. She is set to perform with Mark Ronson who`s nominated for best single. There are reports she may do one of her own hits as well.

Lindsay Lohan`s shocking nude photo shoot as Marilyn Monroe. Not only is Lindsay`s mom defending Lindsay`s decision to bare all, Dinah Lohan also says it was just fine with her that Lindsay`s 14-year-old sister tagged along. I wasn`t allowed to go to any nude shoots when I was 14. Coming up, the fallout and the freak-out over Lindsay`s photos.

Also Kirstie Alley`s diet war. I`ve got to tell you, I was as surprised as anyone to hear that Kirstie was out as a Jenny Craig spokesperson. Kirstie Alley`s diet war. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has the inside story of why the star of "Fat Actress" is really leaving Jenny Craig, the weight loss company she has been the spokesperson for. Plus, Kirstie`s secret plans to help women everywhere lose weight.

(MUSIC)

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson, coming to you tonight from Hollywood. This is TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

HAMMER: Well, tonight, three big stories new right now we have got to talk about. Lindsay Lohan`s "mommager," her mom-manager Dinah Lohan, is now speaking out about her daughter`s nude pictures, posing as Marilyn Monroe. And you won`t believe what she has to say.

Also new right now, Kirstie Alley is igniting a diet war. Kirstie and Jenny Craig are history, but the former star of "Fat Actress" is getting ready for a calorie counterattack.

And it`s back to work for Owen Wilson just six months after his reported suicide attempt. Wilson is going back to work on a brand-new movie. And wait until you hear who his co-star is.

Joining us once again tonight in Hollywood, "Extra" correspondent Carlos Diaz; investigative journalist and author of "Secrets Can Be Murder," Jane Velez-Mitchell; and in New York tonight, Maggie Gallant, the founder of Spotlight Communications.

So much to talk about, gang. We saw that Lindsay Lohan re-created that famous "Last Sitting," very naked photo shoot of Marilyn Monroe. She did it for "New York" magazine. All of you want to listen to what Lindsay`s mother Dinah has just told "People.com," quote, "It was very tastefully done. I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them artistically. For him to call Lindsay 46 years later and to say can you recreate these photos is an honor. I looked at it as art, and as Lindsay doing a character. So I don`t look at them like it`s `Playboy.` She was being a character. So you if you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother."

Jane Velez-Mitchell, what do you think, does Dinah have a good point?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I think she does have a good point. These are artistically done. They`re not raunchy or pornographic. They have a historical context in that they are re-creations of a famous photo shoot.

I honestly don`t understand where all the outrage is coming from. Why don`t we direct that outrage at something that really deserves it like gorno that we see in the slasher movies, which is a new genre of porno plus gore equals gorno. All you have to do is click on the TV set and surf through the channels and there are women being attacked and raped and mutilated. Nobody is an uproar about that.

But god forbid we show a little nudity. Oh that`s going to be really be the end of the world. We have to get our priorities straight and we have to look and re-examine these puritanical attitudes.

HAMMER: All right, Jane, I`m going to write that down, gorno and I will look into that. I`m not just saying that. Carlos Diaz, what do you think, back from gorno to Lohan, and her mom saying, "You know what? This is just fine."

DIAZ: Yes. You know, all my guy friends keep E-mailing me, "Dude, it looks like pure art. Did you see that one? Man, that was really artistic, you know." Come on! I mean, she`s naked. All the guys out there that are looking at this is going, Lindsay Lohan`s naked. I mean, yes, it is a nice, you know, artsy spread and it is Marilyn Monroe and it does have historical significance. But my guy friends are all watching it because she`s topless. I mean, really, I`m just being honest here. Seriously.

HAMMER: No. No. I know what you`re talking about because I will say that on more than occasion, a member of my crew this week has said, "When is that magazine coming out? When is it coming out?

Now, Lindsay`s mom also went out of her way to say it was just fine. She was totally OK with the fact that Lindsay`s 14-year-old sister went to the nude photo shoot. What do you think, Maggie, is there anything wrong with the fact that 14-year-old Ally tagged along?

GALLANT: Well, I think she`s trying to tell her little sister that she`s sending the message that not only is she today`s Marilyn Monroe, but she is taking risks for her art, that she`s not just about rehab and partying, that she`s willing to take it all off so people see her in new and different ways. And I agree; I don`t think men who are reading this magazine are scratching their heads and saying, "Wow, this is really artistic."

HAMMER: Yes. I think we`re on to something with that. One more point I just want to make, because Dinah Lohan, Lindsay`s mom, mentioned the fact that Lindsay`s always loved Marilyn Monroe and there`s this sadness that Lindsay feels for Marilyn.

Now, Jane, knowing how tragically Marilyn`s life ended so soon after she did the photo shoot all those years ago, and how people have been so concerned about Lindsay, I would have to think that connection is not lost on Dinah as the mother.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, but I just don`t think it`s that relevant. I mean Henry VIII`s wives - some of them were beheaded. But we see actresses portraying them all the time in film. I mean this is part of acting and it`s part of being in the media and in entertainment that we talk about people from the past and we often re-create them and often do these kinds of things. This has been going on forever. I can`t imagine that being a valid argument.

HAMMER: OK. Well, I don`t know if we`re ever really worried about any real Hollywood beheadings. But let`s move on now to another big story new right now. Kirstie Alley - she just announced plans that she`s going to develop her own weight loss brand and this is coming on the heels of her announcement that she and Jenny Craig have decided to part ways.

Maggie, I would have to think that after all of these years, the Jenny Craig people can`t be too happy about this, maybe labeling her as a traitor.

GALLANT: No. Absolutely not. I mean one risk she`s taking is that she now has to stay thin. She can`t be yo-yo-ing anymore if she`s now going to be the spokesperson for her own brand. But when Jenny Craig or any other company - when they sign with a celebrity to be an endorser or to be the face of their brand, that agreement always has a beginning and an end date. But you never really think they`re going to become your competitor. So they can`t be happy about this.

HAMMER: Carlos, what do you think? Jenny Craig teed off right about now?

DIAZ: Yes, I think Jenny Craig`s teed off and I think Kirstie Alley`s taking a big risk because how many have we seen in the news recently of food gone bad? You have bad meat. You have bad spinach. I mean if she`s putting her name, her face on food and people are putting it into their mouths, well then, you`re running a big risk of a lawsuit of some sort if someone happens to get sick or something like that. Bad move for Kirstie Alley. Bad move.

HAMMER: That`s going to be interesting to see how that unfolds. Let`s move on to one more story, big new right now, Owen Wilson finally returning to work after his reported suicide attempt. Listen who his co-star is going to be in this new movie - Jennifer Aniston. This is a flick called "Marlee and Me." He`s going to be playing her husband. It`s a comedy. Maggie, I don`t know. Are you feeling a little chemistry perhaps brewing up between these two?

GALLANT: Well, I think nothing really cheers men up by other than being surrounded by beautiful women. And is there anyone really more beautiful than Jennifer Aniston? I hope that cheers him up for sure.

HAMMER: What do you think there, Jane Velez-Mitchell?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, I think it`s very healthy for him to be getting back into work. I assume his counselors and his doctors have signed off. And I want to make a point. I don`t think anybody should be grilling him or hounding him about his crisis that he experienced recently. It`s up to him to decide when he feels comfortable to talk about it.

HAMMER: And that`s going to be the really interesting thing to see if it ends up happening. Now, Carlos, it`s your job just like it`s mine to ask the questions that people want answers to of the stars. Sometimes it can be sensitive, sometimes it can be difficult. Obviously, let`s keep in mind this movie is going to be coming out around Christmas time. He`s going to have to do a lot of promotion for this, presumably. Do you think he`ll open up even on his own if he`s not being grilled by people?

DIAZ: Well, if there`s one person in Hollywood that he could talk to about answering the tough questions, it would be Jennifer Aniston. So he`s got good counsel right there. But you know, he will have to open up a bit. And hopefully it being around Christmas time, it having more of, you know, this more of a family feel around Christmas time, maybe the media might be a little more - they might take it easy on him as they`re asking questions. So hopefully, he will be able to handle it. But like I said, just ask Jennifer how she handled her whole thing with Brangelina and he`ll be fine.

HAMMER: Yes. You know, you make an excellent point there. Very good comparison. Maggie Gallant, Jane Velez-Mtichell, Carlos Diaz, as always, I appreciate you all being here tonight.

ANDERSON: Hey, A.J., were you a fan of "Beverly Hills 90210?"

HAMMER: I was a huge fan of "90210" and I always wanted to know whatever happened to David and Donna, if they lived happily ever after.

ANDERSON: Yes. David and Donna, Kelly and Dylan - I followed their stories. And you know, A.J., there was a whole lot of sleeping around going on on camera. Tonight, though, I can tell you there was plenty of hanky panky after the cameras stopped rolling. You`ve got to hear the explosive secrets Tori Spelling is spilling about "90210." Plus, the real story about the fight over her father Aaron Spelling`s money. That`s next.

HAMMER: Now, I`m psyched for that, Brooke. And I`m psyched for the Oscars this weekend, looking forward to hanging out with you. And you know, one of the most controversial Oscar stories is over the best actor and best supporting actors, most of them playing really bad violent guys in their films. So will bad lead to gold? That`s coming up. Also this -

MANDY MOORE, SINGER: I feel so lucky to be in this position and have this job. Why would I do anything to jeopardize that?

HAMMER: Mandy Moore is one of my favorite young stars. Why? Because she hasn`t been to rehab, hasn`t been to jail. How does she stay out of trouble? I go one on one with Mandy Moore, coming up.

TORI SPELLING, ACTRESS: I`m not going out with you, Dylan.

JENNIE GARTH, ACTRESS: Oh, no. You`d better be careful, you might get arrested.

SPELLING: Would you guys just cut it out? Dylan and I are just friends. You know, platonic friends?

Oh, Tori, if we only knew what was really going on behind the scenes of the hit show "Beverly Hills 90210." Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson.

Tonight`s shocking secrets in a new tell-all book from Donna Martin herself, Tori Spelling. She gives "People" magazine an exclusive look at her memoir story telling and boy, does she dish. Tori says the entire cast of "90210" pretty much slept with one another.

She also reveals that she wasn`t surprised that her dad Aaron Spelling only left her $800,000 from his $500 million fortune. It`s in the new issue of "people" magazine.

And joining us tonight to discuss it, in New York, David Caplan, staff editor of "People" magazine. David, it`s great to see you. And you know, I think that a lot of us who were fans of "90210" pretty much thought, hey, there probably are hook-ups going on behind the scenes here. And now, Tori confirms all of it to her fans that yes, everybody slept with one another while filming the show. David, what does she say happened?

DAVID CAPLAN, STAFF EDITOR, "PEOPLE" MAGAZINE: It is great. She confirms all of our suspicions. Well, she does say over the course of the show, she says basically everyone on the show was hooking up. And as for herself, she said she had a, quote, "insta-crush" on Brian Austin Green who eventually in the show, of course, played her love interest.

And she said the two of them really hit it off. They had this connection because they were the same age on the show. They were among the younger stars on the show and that they had so much fun together. They fought together. They made up together. There was just this really great connection between the two of them.

ANDERSON: Yes. She didn`t really name names, but she said basically, pretty much everybody just kind of slept around there. All right. Well, there are also revelations about her father, legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling who died in 2006. Tori was hoping to get a nice chunk of his $500 million but she reveals she only got under a million.

In an excerpt that ran in "People" magazine she said this, quote, "I wasn`t surprised to learn that $800,000 was coming my way. Still, to be completely honest, I was let down when I heard that nothing had changed."

Come on, if your father had $500 million, wouldn`t you hope for just a paltry $10 million? David, after taxes, she admits she got about half of that. She was in debt a couple of hundred thousand at the time, but she doesn`t seem to hold a grudge here, does she?

CAPLAN: No, she doesn`t hold a grudge because the interesting thing here is she was, you know, planning before Aaron`s death, actually, how much she would get. She even says in this excerpt in the magazine that she had lunch with her dad to discuss what was she going to get in the will. And her dad at the time says, "Don`t worry. You and your brother Randy are taken care of. You`ll get about a million dollars." That`s why when it came time and she got about $800,000, she wasn`t surprised. But of course, there is a bit of hurt there that`s like, come on, he`s worth half a billion dollars. At least get $10 million?

ANDERSON: Yes, she was prepared though. And I don`t think anybody is feeling sorry for her. She`s got hundreds of thousands of dollars. And in another part of her memoir excerpt in "People" that really caught my attention, it was the fact that she explained the shocking details of cheating on her first husband Charlie Shanian with her now second husband, Dean McDermott. David, she tells her really startling story about the first time she woke up next to Dean after cheating on Charlie. What did she say?

CAPLAN: This is incredible. She said she wakes up in bed with Dean. They were in Ottawa where they were filming a TV movie. And, you know, basically she realized this was the guy. She was ready to end her marriage. She says it was love at first sight when she met Dean in Ottawa, and that was that. And in fact, she didn`t even really love her first husband.

ANDERSON: Really startling. I`m sure her husband, first husband might not be too excited about this tell-all book. And quickly, David, what did she say about her previously estranged relationship with her mother, Candy Spelling? They did reconcile, right, before the first of her first child Liam(ph)?

CAPLAN: Yes. Absolutely, they reconciled. What happened as she writes in this excerpt that really her mom E-mailed her saying, "I know you`re pregnant." And from there since, the relationship got better. Her mom came to the hospital when she delivered Liam(ph).

And the quick tidbit that she puts in the book is that at the age of 5, her dad told her - Aaron said to her, "You know what? I love you more than mommy." And little Tori turns around and then Candy Spelling is there. So that gives a good insight into really the genesis of why the relationship was so fractured over the years.

ANDERSON: Tori Spelling telling all. "People" magazine`s David Caplan, thanks so much for your insight.

And for more on Tori Spelling`s new tell-all book, pick up a copy of "People" magazine. It`s on newsstands, Friday.

HAMMER: Well, I`ve got to say it looks like a good year to be bad. That is if you want to have a shot at winning an Oscar. I mean, let`s see. In the best actor, best supporting actor category, you`ve got a mob connected driver, you`ve got a sociopathic killer and a throat-slashing barber. It is a startling controversy that`s got a lot of people asking what is with all the doom and gloom? Here`s CNN entertainment correspondent Kareen Wynter for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: A whole ocean of oil under our feet. No one can get at it except for me.

KAREEN WYNTER, CNN ENTERTAINMENT CORRESPONDENT: This year, it`s good to be bad in the race for Oscar gold. Brace yourselves for the venomous villains who ruled the big screen with heart-stopping performances like supporting actor nominee, Javier Bardem. He stars in the psychological thriller "No Country For Old Men."

JAVIER BARDEM, BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR NOMINEE: Who is this guy supposed to be? Some bad ass?

WYNTER: Some critics say he comes pretty darn close. But so do these cold-blooded contenders who caught the Academy`s eye. In the lead actor category, Daniel Day Lewis, the ruthless oilman from "There Will Be Blood."

DANIEL DAY LEWIS, BEST ACTOR NOMINEE: I want no one else to succeed.

WYNTER: Johnny Depp, the demonic barber in "Sweeney Todd."

JOHNNY DEPP, BEST ACTOR NOMINEE: Welcome to the grave.

WYNTER: And Viggo Mortensen, a Russian tough guy in "Eastern Promises."

VIGGO MORTENSEN, BEST ACTOR NOMINEE: Are you calling me a villain? I don`t think I am a villain, but I don`t want to ruin the story for anybody.

WYNTER: Neither do we, but let`s face it, the Academy has a history of embracing evil on occasion. Anthony Hopkins`s cannibalistic performance as Hannibal Lecter in "Silence of the Lambs" earned him an Oscar in 1992. The year before Kathy Bates took home a statue for her maniacal role in "Misery." Denzel Washington`s crooked cop portrayal in "Traing Day." And Charlize Theron`s sinister role as a serial killer also won Oscars. What`s the appeal?

ANTHONY HOPKINS, OSCAR WINNING ACTOR: I guess people like to be scared, whatever, like psychos.

KATHY BATES, OSCAR WINNING ACTRESS: It was such a challenge to play a character that complex. Take all those wild, way out characteristics and make them real.

WYNTER: Real enough to leave viewers shaken. That`s what Bardem told me happened after one of his movie screenings.

BARDEM: They were facing me and they were really like freaking out, "Oh my god!" right after they saw the movie.

WYNTER: This could be another year where the good guys finish last.

BARDEM: You know how this is going to turn out.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Yes, it could and will probably turn out to be an Oscar for Javier Bardem. That was CNN entertainment correspondent Kareen Wynter for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Well, you`re going to find out if the bad boys or girls win on Sunday. I`m going to be right there live with Brooke Anderson at the Oscars in Hollywood with the latest breaking Oscar news and the first reaction from all of the stars. It is a special live edition of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. We`re the only ones there live. "Hollywood`s Gold Rush" happens Sunday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific right here on HEADLINE NEWS.

I`ve got to tell you, I think it`s safe to say, at least right here, right now, the lovely Mandy Moore is the gold standard when it comes to young Hollywood stars. She has definitely stayed out of trouble.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MOORE: I just feel so lucky to be in this position and have this job. Why would I do anything to jeopardize that?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Man, you don`t hear that often enough. No jail, no rehab, no sex tape, what`s going on? What is her secret to keeping her head on straight? I go one on one with the lovely Mandy Moore. You definitely will want to hear what she has to say, coming up next.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Thank you, Charles. Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. I`ve got to tell you something. Mandy Moore, she`s one of my favorite young stars out there. She`s got a movie career, a singing career. She is a genuinely nice young lady.

But unlike some other out of control young Hollywood stars, she has managed to stay out of trouble. So when she stopped by SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, I just had to ask her, what is her secret for not ending up splashed all over the wild, shocking tabloid stories?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER (on camera): I love the fact that you and I are able to sit here and have this nice conversation and I don`t need to talk to you about you ever having been to jail or to rehab or trouble. You know, seriously though -

MOORE: Yes. I know.

HAMMER: And it seems like I shouldn`t have to say something like that. But I look at the life that you have led and I look at, you know, what has gone on in young Hollywood and talk about obstacles a lot of young Hollywood - certainly there`s a lot obstacles to get over. For you, why have you been able to get through it unscathed? Because certainly, there`s temptation at every turn.

MOORE; I don`t see the temptation. Maybe that`s exactly the point. It`s odd, it`s so odd to sort of be the anomaly. And maybe I won`t be the anomaly for much longer, but I guess like for me the foundation of everything I feel is family. And I kind of lucked out in that department, like I have a great family. I`m so close to them. I have a great circle of friends.

But I think, inevitably, at the end of the day, it comes down to making a choice, too. Because we put ourselves out there so much publicly, if you`re kind of in this profession, that I would need something for myself at the end of the day in order to feel sane and balanced. And I don`t know, it`s like that sort of lifestyle, not to judge, it`s not what I subscribe to.

HAMMER: Well, it`s not for you. You have your priorities in order. Obviously, work has been a huge priority and it also seems to me, you know, who knows if you ever might have become somebody who loves to go out and party but you didn`t want to screw up the work thing. That`s for sure.

MOORE: Of course, it`s like I feel so lucky to be in this position and have this job. Why would I do anything to jeopardize that?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. I think that`s a simple philosophy to live by. Mandy is taking her very positive message to the Internet. She has signed on to something called UPumpItUp.com. I urge you to check it out. It`s a terrific Web site, and it`s all about empowering women to inspire each other. Brooke, really a great attitude there.

ANDERSON: I did check it out, A.J., the Web site is really cool, very motivational for women.

HAMMER: Well, for Mandy Moore. That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thank you so much for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. The latest from CNN HEADLINE NEWS, coming up next.
