Anna Nicole`s Last Will Penned in 2001; More Confusion over Smith`s Heirs; Tyra Banks Speaks Out on Fashion

Aired February 16, 2007 - 23:00:00   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

BROOKE ANDERSON CNN ANCHOR, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT: Tyra Banks on people calling her fat. Why she tells me she feels partly responsible over all this outrage over super skinny models. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.
JASON CARROLL CNN ANCHOR, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT: And making it work, Hollywood couples who don`t end up in divorce court. I`m Jason Carroll in New York.

TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.

ANDERSON: On SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, dramatic new Anna Nicole Smith developments. Tonight, her will is made public, the shocking revelations.

Plus, a big step in the battle to bury Anna Nicole. And a revealing look at the relationships she had with two of the men claiming to be her baby`s father, Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead. What really went on.

ANDERSON: Breaking Britney Spears news. Tonight, did she really check into rehab? Plus, the alarming letter written to Britney from someone very close to her. The stunning warning that`s in it. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT investigates.

CARROLL: Hello, I`m Jason Carroll in New York. A.J. Hammer has the night off.

ANDERSON: I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood and tonight we are getting to the bottom of wild reports that Britney Spears checked herself into, and then out of rehab. That`s coming up in just a few minutes. >

CARROLL: Great. But first tonight, where there`s a will, there really was an Anna Nicole. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is bringing you the last will and testament of Anna Nicole Smith, which was released today in yet another shocking, unexpected development. And in death, as in life, the complicated and turbulent world of Anna Nicole is making us all just shake our heads in disbelief.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JUDGE LARRY SEIDLIN, CIRCUIT COURT: We`re going to take this will and mark it as exhibit A.

CAROLL (voice over): SHOWBIZ TONIGHT got a copy of Anna Nicole`s 16- page will, a document many hoped would provide answers, but instead of answers, more questions. The problem, the will is dated more than five years ago, July 30, 2001. And was drafted before the birth of her daughter, Dannielynn, and the death, just days later, of her 20-year-old son, Daniel.

LISA BLOOM, ANCHOR, COURT TV: There`s no question in my mind that because this will leaves everything to Daniel, and Daniel is gone, and it doesn`t provide what`s going to happen in that event, we`re going to have a contest between her other surviving heirs, that would be her daughter, Dannielynn, five-months old, and her mother, Vergie Arthur.

CARROLL: Until now there was wild speculation over who was named the executor of Anna Nicole`s will, and that mystery is now over. Anna Nicole named her lover, Howard K. Stern, the primary executor.

BLOOM: I think it`s shameful that Howard K. Stern was both her lawyer and lover. It`s highly unethical. As a lawyer myself, it`s just deeply offensive to me, because I think he was not putting her interests first.

CARROLL: Whatever his interests were SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you, the will referred to only Daniel and also carried a strange clause saying, quote, "I have intentionally omitted to provide for my spouse and other heirs, including future spouses, and children." While that language appears to exclude Anna Nicole`s five-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, from any inheritance that`s not a given.

BLOOM: Just because that baby isn`t named in the will, the law isn`t going to cut that child out.

CARROLL: Just because Howard K. Stern was name in the will doesn`t mean he should expect a windfall. Court TV`s Lisa Bloom tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that as far as she can tell, Stern is getting nothing, as of now.

BLOOM: She doesn`t provide for him as a beneficiary in the will, only as the executor.

CARROLL: We`re finally going to get a chance to see Howard K. Stern in person for the very first time since Anna Nicole died. In a dramatic decision today, the Ft. Lauderdale judge ordered Stern to leave the Bahamas, and Anna Nicole`s baby, and be there in person when court reconvenes next Tuesday.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Your Honor, yesterday, it`s just not possible. He cannot leave this baby right now.

SEIDLIN: I`m making a decision. He has to come here by Tuesday morning. The court rules he be here, physically present.

CARROLL: As Stern gets ready to leave little Dannielynn, the drama continues over who might be her dad.

PRINCE FREDERIK VON ANHOLT: If the court rules in my favor, then she will, then the baby comes to me.

CARROLL: This man, Prince Von Anholt, Zsa Zsa Gabor`s eighth husband, is contesting Howard K. Stern`s claims.

ANHOLT: I think he`s full of (BLEEP).

CARROLL: At a press conference the prince announced he had filed legal documents seek a DNA test to determine if he fathered Anna Nicole`s baby.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Mr. Von Anholt had a relationship with Anna Nicole Smith spanning ten years and, in fact, had intercourse with Anna Nicole Smith in January of last year, when Dannielynn was likely conceived.

CARROLL: Californian photographer Larry Birkhead, Anna`s his ex- boyfriend, also wants a DNA test. He`s been fighting over custody for Dannielynn before Anna Nicole passed away.

As the tug of war continues over the little baby, the judge stepped in, appointing a legal guardian.

SEIDLIN: To protect the best interest of Dannielynn Hope Marshall, the court having been fully advised, it is hereby ordered and judged that Richard Millstein, Esquire, a member of the bar in good standing, is qualified to be pointed as guardian Ad Litem.

CARROLL: In addition to giving the baby a legal guardian the judge took a major step toward laying Anna Nicole`s body to rest, ordering today that she be embalmed.

SEIDLIN: The court signing the order, and this is the title of it, "Order Authorizing Embalming of Decedent," decedent being Anna Nicole Smith. We`re beginning to give her peace.

CARROLL: But peace seems a long way off. It`s clear that the chaos that followed Anna Nicole in life is still surrounding her in death.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: Now we know an Anna Nicole will exists, will it hold up? What will happen on Tuesday when Howard K. Stern shows up in court in Florida on Tuesday? The twists, the turns, they never end.

With us tonight Ashleigh Banfield host of Court TV`s "Hollywood Heat"; she joins us from Court TV studios in New York City.

So, Ashleigh, so much to go through. I want to begin with Howard K. Stern, the named executor of the will. He was her lawyer when this will was drafted at the time of her death, we now know he was her lover, claims to be the father of her baby. Seems to be a conflict of interest here, grounds to contest this will, do you think?

ASHLEIGH BANFIELD, COURT TV HOST: Possibly. You can contest just about anything. How much weight do you get?

In this circumstance, it is creepy. I think the question will be how much influence was exerted over Anna, if any? Drugs also come into play there. The whole big question, was she able to exercise her own free will? And that`s sorta the basis on which you might contest, the fact he had this romantic relationship with her.

ANDERSON: You know, it was written more than five years ago, in 2001. Isn`t it a little strange that it has never been revised? Also, so much has happened since then. She has given birth. Her sole heir, her son, has died. Makes the whole thing even more complicated, doesn`t it?

BANFIELD: It does, and it`s dumb. I mean, we all have to know that when you have another baby, or if you have some life altering circumstance, you`ve got to change your will, especially when you might be due close to half a billion dollars.

It doesn`t invalidate it, Brooke. It does invalidate the will, but it does make it attackable. So, that just basically means more stories for you and me.

ANDERSON: Next Tuesday, another story for you and me, Howard K. Stern, the judge has ordered him to physically show up in court to talk about the body burial. Who gets the body? Everybody is arguing over that. This is going to be an absolute circus. This is the first time he has appeared in public, Ashley, since Anna Nicole died. What can we expect from this?

BANFIELD: Although we have had those kind of appearances on "Larry King Live" and "E.T.", where he looks catatonic most of the time, desperately sad over the loss of first Danny and then, of course, Anna.

Well I think you can expect, like you said, huge circus. But then you can also expect a lot of questions about the specific issues at hand. The filing of the will in this particular jurisdiction. That will be questioned.

This judge also seems to like to get into the paternity pot. He has tangential relationship, legally, to the paternity issues. I think he`s sort of exercising his right to get in there and question. Whether we`ll talk at all about paternity, though, will have to wait until Tuesday. We`ll definitely talk about the body, and about the release of the body, and his right to it.

ANDERSON: What if Howard K. Stern refuses to show up? What would happen then?

BANFIELD: We would have a great story. Basically, Brooke, can I put it to you this way? One of my friends here at Court TV said that would be real dumb.

Look, he can`t be compelled. He cannot be compelled to come to this hearing. You can`t subpoena someone in another country. But this is something he wants. He wants the body. So, not to show up would essentially be saying to this judge, I don`t really care a hoot about your court, and you never really want to tell judge that when you want something from said judge.

ANDERSON: Yes, it would not be a smart move. I want to talk about, in addition to the body burial, I want to talk about this baby battle, battle over Dannielynn. Even if they determine paternity, conclusively, let`s say Ashley it`s Larry Birkhead, her former boyfriend. It`s still possible that Howard K. Stern could keep the baby, right? Paternity doesn`t necessarily determine custody?

BANFIELD: You hit the nail on the head. Paternity does not determine custody. People will be shocked to hear that. There is another magic phrase that tends to get invoked all the time in family court, and "it`s the best interest of the child". Judges like very much to weigh their decisions on that, and not necessarily that alone, but a lot of that.

So let`s just talk about Dannielynn for a moment. She`s been five months in the same house, essentially been raised, so far, by Howard K. Stern. So those factors will come in. What kind of lifestyle does Birkhead live in LA? What would it be for this child to be moved out of the country, and across the United States? All of those will factor in, but paternity is not the deciding factor.

ANDERSON: This whole situation is beyond belief at times. Court TV`s Ashleigh Banfield. Thanks as always for helping us sort it out. We appreciate it.

BANFIELD: You`re welcome, as always.

CARROLL: All right, now we want to hear from you. It`s our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. Anna Nicole Smith, should she be buried next to her son in the Bahamas? Got to CNN.com/showbiztonight. Send us an e- mail at CNN.com/showbiztonight.com.

And remember, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is the only entertainment news show that let`s you express your opinion on video. To send us a video e-mail go to our web site, CNN.com/showbiztonight.

ANDERSON: We`ve got much more on Anna Nicole Smith`s shocking death. Coming up, a revealing look at the relationships she had with two of the men claiming to be her baby`s daddy, Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead.

CARROLL: Also, breaking Britney Spears news. Did she really check into rehab?

Plus, the alarming letter written to Britney from someone very close to her; the stunning warning that`s in it.

And we`ve also got this --

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TYRA BANKS: And I was even told, when I was 123 pounds, to loose 10 and to go to 113.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Tyra Banks, she opens up to me about people calling her fat, and why she feels partly responsible for the outrage over super-skinny models.

CARROLL: First, tonight`s "Entertainment Weekly" great American pop culture quiz. In 1985`s "Desperately Seeking Susan" to which rock legend does Susan claim her jacket belonged?

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

CARROLL: Again, tonight`s "Entertainment Weekly" great American pop culture quiz. In 1985`s "Desperately Seeking Susan" to which rock legend does Susan claim her jacket belonged? Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Elvis, or James Brown? Susan, played by Madonna, claims her jacket belonged to A, Jimi Hendrix.

ANERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Time now for a story that made us say, "That`s ridiculous."

OK, so I`m a Madonna fan. Love her music, love that she`s strong and successful. I even think she got way too much grief for adopting that African baby. Very cute little David, there.

But, um, Madonna, love ya, babe, but don`t compare yourself to Gandhi or Jesus.

In a radio interview, the Material Girl says, "I want to be like Gandhi and Martin Luther King and John Lennon. For me, we all need to be Jesus in our time." Uh-huh. Well, we object to this material. The Material Girl wanting to be like Gandhi, that`s ridiculous.

CARROLL: Tonight, there`s a big mystery over whether Britney Spears went into rehab. Reports flying all over the place today that weeks after out of control partying and drinking Britney did check herself in -- and get this -- she may have already checked herself out. With us tonight from Glendale, California, the managing editor of entertainment news web site, TMZ.com, Harvey Levin.

Harvey, how are you?

HARVEY LEVIN, MANAGING EDITOR, TMZ.COM: Hey, Jason.

CARROLL: Harvey, you guys broke that story that Britney Spears checked in, and checked out of rehab 24 hours later. People.com is now reporting she checked herself into Eric Clapton`s Crossroads Center in Antigua. What else can you tell us about this?

LEVIN: Well, just to correct, "Extra!" broke the story that she was in rehab. We broke the story that she lasted less than 24 hours.

What happened was family members, basically, staged an intervention and convinced her to go over there and do it. And she just didn`t want to have any part of it. And as of an hour ago, at least, she was in the air flying home to Los Angeles.

CARROLL: So, obviously, her family is trying to do somewhat of an intervention here, didn`t work. Do we have any sort of indication of what went wrong here?

LEVIN: She didn`t want to be there. She just didn`t want to be there. And, ultimately, you can`t hold her against her will, at least at this facility. And she just didn`t want to have any part of it and left.

CARROLL: Harvey shall we often hear the phrase, where are the parents? Britney has always been close to her mother. Why do you think it`s taken them so long to jump in and to try to intervene?

LEVIN: I don`t think it has taken them that long. There`s been concern for a while now about her -- and -- for at least several months. And it`s been growing and growing and growing. Remember, she was a mom. She was -- she wasn`t married. Everything changed and she exploded with this kind of partying. And I think that`s when everybody got alarmed and got involved.

CARROLL: I`m wondering how this might effect her ongoing custody battle with Kevin Federline regarding their two kids, Sean (ph) Preston and Jaden (ph) . They`ve been trying to work out custody arrangements on a month-to-month base. I`m wondering could Britney`s behavior give Federline more ammunition to get custody of the children?

LEVIN: Absolutely. Ultimately, a judge will have to sign off on this custody order. If she has a substance abuse problem she`s unwilling to fix, you know, that could have a big impact on any kind of a custody contest. Kevin Federline, as far as we know, he seems, right now -- honestly, to be the more stable one.

CARROLL: That`s news there. Want to switch to another person making news in the tabloids, that`s Nicole Ritchie, who was, as you know, pulled over last December when she was stopped for driving the wrong way. Police say she admitted popping some Vicodin and smoking marijuana. Today, she was formally charged with a misdemeanor for driving under the influence. Should she be worried, if she`s convicted could she end up in jail?

LEVIN: She could. Because she`s been convicted once before, in Westwood, California. And under the law of California, if somebody gets convicted a second time, they have to serve a minimum of five consecutive days in jail. So, she, if convicted, she could end up in the slammer.

CARROLL: Do you think it`s likely?

LEVIN: Yeah. I really do. Listen, I think it`s likely, number one, because there was another DUI. And, number two, what she did really could have killed somebody. I mean, she was driving the wrong way on the freeway. She just got really lucky. You know, Lane Garrison was not as lucky, he`s now facing manslaughter charges. That could have been her.

CARROLL: And very quickly, I know that she`s scheduled to be arraigned on the 21st next Wednesday. Any idea, do you think she`ll show up?

LEVIN: You know, Jason, it`s a misdemeanor. I don`t think she`s required to show up for the arraignment. So, my guess is no.

CARROLL: All right, Harvey Levin, he`s always got the answers. Harvey Levin, managing editor of TMZ.com. Thanks for joining us.

LEVIN: My pleasure, Jason.

ANDERSON: Well also tonight, an alarming warning to Britney Spears from someone very close to her. In a shocking e-mail to Thatotherblog.com, Felicia Culatta, who was Brit`s personal assistance for nearly a decade, fears that she`s out of control and something really bad could happen to her, because of recent hard core partying and drinking that we`ve seen so much of, and panty-less partying.

Felicia writes, "I am crushed, saddened, heartsick by the way her life is unfolding. There`s just so much you can do to help a person. I don`t dare want to be an enabler. I cannot convince her in any way to love herself. I cannot save her from herself. To see what`s transpiring now makes me feel a failure, defeated."

"Partridge Family" star Danny Bonaduce, who has battled alcohol himself, told us he thinks Brit`s problem is so bad, she could end up like Anna Nicole Smith, dead.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DANNY BONADUCE, ACTOR: And there`s not a chance, in my opinion, that she`s looking and she`s saying, wow, that could have been me. She`s saying wouldn`t be me in a million years.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: He never holds back. Sadly, Bonaduce also says Anna Nicole Smith`s death isn`t going to serve as a wake-up call to all these Lindseys, Britneys, Parises of the world, who seem headed for disaster.

CARROLL: We`ve got much more on Anna Nicole`s Smith shocking death. Coming up, a revealing look at the relationships she had with two of the men claiming to be her baby`s father, Howard k. Stern and Larry Birkhead.

ANDERSON: And this is very exciting. We`re going to kick off a brand new, very special SHOWBIZ TONIGHT series, "Making It Work." Hollywood couples who actually don`t end up in divorce court. Because, you know, that`s what we hear most of. Tonight, the secrets to keeping it together. We`ve also got this --

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TYRA BANKS: So, it`s my responsibility to show myself unretouched, to come out on my talk show with my face untouched, to show my cellulite, to show my back fat on my bra. That`s my responsibility.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Tyra Banks, she opens up to me about people calling her fat, and why she feels partly responsible for all the outrage over super- skinny models. Stay with us. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT for a Friday night is coming right back.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Monday, the Anna Nicole Smith`s tragedy`s littlest victim, Dannielynn Smith. Just a baby, she`s lost her mother, in the middle of a bitter court battle over paternity. We`re going to take a look at the emotional impact to Dannielynn. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s continuing coverage of Anna Nicole Smith`s death, on Monday.

CARROLL: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Jason Carroll in for A.J. Hammer.

Tonight, Kenny Chesney is putting an end to all those rumors that say he`s gay. You may remember the country star was briefly married to Renee Zellweger back in 2005. We`re talking only a matter of four months, and then Renee walked away. She filed for an annulment citing, quote, "fraud."

So people started saying all kinds of things, including that Kenny was really liking men, and that`s why Renee dumped him. Well, in a "60 Minutes" interview with CNN`s Anderson Cooper about being gay, Kenny says, "No way."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KENNEY CHESNEY, COUNTRY SINGER: Maybe I should have come out and said, no, I`m not, but I didn`t want to draw any more attention to it. You know, because I knew I wasn`t. I didn`t have to prove to anybody that I wasn`t. I didn`t really feel like I did. It`s not true, period.

ANDERSON COOPER: Why did she check the word "fraud"?

CHESNEY: Well, I mean, it was, we thought, the least harmful, was fraud. Because it was kind of broad, whatever it is. It doesn`t specify. Boy, we were wrong. But it`s OK. The only fraud that was committed was me thinking that I knew what it was like, that I really understood what it was like to be married, and I really didn`t.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

CARROLL: You can see more of this revealing interview, this Sunday on CBS`s "60 Minutes.

ANDERSON: Another country star, speaking out about the controversy surrounding him. Keith Urban on his battle with alcohol, and how his wife, Nicole Kidman, dealt with it.

CARROLL: And we`ve got much more on Anna Nicole Smith`s shocking death. Coming up, a revealing look at the relationships she had with two of the men claiming to be her baby`s father, Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead.

We`ve also got this --

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TYRA BANKS: I was even told when I was 123 pounds to lose 10 pounds and go to 113. (END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Tyra Banks, she opens up to me about people calling her fat, and why she feels partly responsible for the outrage surrounding all these super-skinny models. We`ll have that coming up.

RICHELLE CAREY, CNN HEADLINE NEWS ANCHOR: Hi, everybody. I`m Rachelle Carey with your HEADLINE PRIME newsbreak.

The House easily passed a two-sentence, nonbinding resolution rejecting President Bush`s plan for sending more troops to Iraq with Friday`s 246-182 vote. Attention now turns to the Senate for a showdown, could be looming. Democratic leaders there plan to hold a key procedural vote on the resolution in a rare Saturday session.

Anna Nicole Smith`s will appears to leave no one to inherent her estate. The only heir named is her son, Daniel, who died last September. That sets the stage for more legal fighting. Smith`s attorney, and romantic partner, Howard K. Stern, is named her executor. A Florida judge ordered Smith be embalmed. A hearing on her burial is set for Tuesday.

There`s been an explosion outside Valaro McKee (ph) refinery outside, Dumis, that is near Amarillo, in the Texas Panhandle. Four people were hospitalized, three in critical condition. More than 400 workers at that plant were evacuated.

That`s the news for now. Keep it here. I`m Richelle Carey.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

CARROLL: I`m Jason Carroll in New York. A.J. Hammer has the night off. This is TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

ANDERSON: You know, Jason, I had the chance to sit down with Tyra Banks. She really opened up to about how she feels when she was brutally criticized, recently, for her recent weight gain. She was also very candid about the fact that she feels partly responsible for the super-skinny model out there and the debate that is surrounding them. We`re going to have that very honest chat coming up in just a bit.

CARROLL: All right. Can`t wait to see that interview.

First, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s continuing coverage of Anna Nicole Smith`s death. We`re going to get you up to speed now, on all the late-breaking developments of the day.

First, Anna Nicole Smith`s will has been released. It leaves everything to her son, Daniel. But it was written in July 2001, years before Daniel died, and her daughter, Dannielynn was born. The will names Howard K. Stern as the executor, but it doesn`t leave him any money.

Also today, a judge ordered that Anna Nicole`s body be embalmed. But the issue of who gets possession of the body, and where she will be buried, is still tied up in the courts.

Finally, it seems everyone has a lawyer in this case. Now, five- month-old Dannielynn does, too. The judge appointed a legal guardian to look after the baby`s interest.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SEIDLIN: To protect the best interest of Dannielynn Hope Marshall, a minor child of the decedent, the court having been fully advised, it is hereby ordered and judged that Richard Millstein, Esquire, a member of the bar in good standing, is qualified to be appointed as guardian Ad Litem.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

CARROLL: While she has a lawyer, the question of who Dannielynn`s father is, is still a mystery. The list of potential dads has grown now to at least six.

ANDERSON: Oh, boy, can you believe it? One of the most fascinating parts of the Anna Nicole Smith`s family, all the men who say they had relationships with her. But former boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, and her partner, Howard K. Stern have been described as inconsolable since her death. But did Anna really love either of them? What was her relationship like with these men? How did she feel about them? With us tonight, in New York, developmental psychologist Cooper Lawrence.

Good to see you, Cooper.

COOPER LAWRENCE, DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGIST: You, too. You, too.

ANDERSON: All right, Larry Birkhead, the boyfriend who claims he was with Anna for two and a half years, says he loved Anna. He says he tried to keep her off the drugs. He believes he`s the father of her baby, and is fighting with all of his might for a paternity test. Why do you think that Anna ditched Larry for Howard?

LAWRENCE: Well, a lot of people have the same problem Anna does, which is when -- it is something called self-verification theory. It means that you verify -- you surround yourself with people who verify how you feel about yourself.

So, if you don`t feel too good about yourself, you`re not going to want to be around somebody who loves you, and cares about you. You want to be around people who don`t think so highly of you if you adopt think so highly of yourself. I think that`s what we`re seeing here.

ANDERSON: I`ve got to tell you, it`s getting really hard to distinguish the heroes from the villains in this unbelievable story. What about Birkhead? Do you see him as one of the possible heroes here?

LAWRENCE: Oh, that`s the hope. I mean, this is the kind of story that if we told it, people would say you`re making this up.

ANDERSON: Yeah.

LAWRENCE: But because it`s such an outrageous story, there has to be a hero. He seems like a very together guy. He seems like somebody who is very lovely and loveable. Yeah, he`s definitely the hero. So we want him to be the father. We`re kind of rooting for him.

ANDERSON: I`ve talked to Larry. He`s convinced he`s the father. From what he tells me, it seems like he truly loved her. I have to say, if Larry is one of the more stable, good guys out there -- God knows she could have used one of those, a stable person in her life -- why in the world -- I know you talked about this a bit -- but elaborate a bit more. Why would she choose Howard over somebody like that?

LAWRENCE: Because Anna Nicole was somebody who -- she likes drama. There`s no drama with settling down with somebody wonderful and loving. There`s no drama in that. Her life has been tumultuous. She doesn`t understand how good stability could have been for her. It`s a shame she never got to learn that lesson.

ANDERSON: We`re not saying Howard was a bad guy. We just don`t know how it`s going to play out just yet. These are all hypotheticals.

Before Anna Nicole died, she and Howard K. Stern had a commitment ceremony. Howard claims they were going to get married. You`re a developmental psychologist, from what you have seen, do you really think Anna Nicole loved Howard?

LAWRENCE: It almost feels like -- you know, when you say to your best friend when you`re little, if we`re 30, and we`re still single, let`s get married? It almost feels like that. Because they were best friends. They were very close. I don`t know about you, but I watched her show on E! all the time. Because I`m fascinated by her.

But it seems like they were very close. It seemed like at least he had her best interest in mind, you would hope. So, I think it came to the point where she decided, you know what? Life could be worse, this guy loves me, and cares about me and that`s not so bad.

ANDERSON: And I admit it, I watched a few episodes of the show myself, Cooper. We`ve got Howard, we`ve got Larry, so many others. In the end, was Anna Nicole the kind of person who, by her nature, would have trouble finding lasting love in a long-term relationship? Because there are those people.

LAWRENCE: Yeah. I think she was one of those people, who just doesn`t know a good thing when it hits her in the face. She`s somebody who was more comfortable being around people who didn`t think so highly of her. It really reflects how she must have reflected about herself.

ANDERSON: What can the rest of us learn from this situation and going forward in our own relationships? What can we do better?

LAWRENCE: That`s a great question. I think, you know, this is sort of a cautionary tale, in the way that if you`re around people who don`t treat you well, then that`s about you. It`s on you. What is it about you that you`re attracting these kind of people in your life?

So, it`s a good cautionary tale to sit and say well, how could I change my life? How could I make the people around me reflect the way I really want to see myself?

ANDERSON: Good advice. Developmental psychologist Cooper Lawrence, thank so much. LAWRENCE: Thank you. My pleasure.

CARROLL: We have been asking you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. Anna Nicole Smith -- should she be buried next to her son in the Bahamas? Keep voting at CNN.com/showbiztonight. And write us at Showbiztonight@cnn.com. We`ll read some of your e-mails tomorrow.

Remember, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is the only entertainment news show that allows to you express your opinion on video. To send us a video e-mail, go to our website cnn.com/showbiztonight.

ANDERSON: Country star Keith Urban is speaking out about his time in rehab and says his wife Nicole Kidman gave him extraordinary support. Urban checked into the Betty Ford Center just four months after marrying Kidman.

It was his second time in rehab -- the first time was back in 1998. But this time around, he stayed for three months rather than 28 days. In his first American TV interview, since leaving rehab, bet Urban told Matt Lauer on the "Today Show" that it wasn`t one incident that made him check in, but his life had become unmanageable. And he said, Kidman`s support has been indescribable.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KEITH URBAN, COUNTRY SINGER: They say grief of the heart closely bonds than joy ever can. We`ve gone through a lot. She`s been extraordinary.

MATT LAUER, "TODAY SHOW": What have you learned about her during this? I`m sure the learned a lot about you, as well?

URBAN: Yeah, I can`t quantify it. It`s not a sound byte, what we`ve learned. But it`s very profound.

ANDERSON: Keith is getting ready for a world tour to support his latest album. It`s called, "Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing."

CARROLL: Keith and Nicole have already overcome some difficult times in their short marriage, but can they make it work long-term? Coming up, we`re looking at Hollywood couples who are doing just that.

We`re also going to have this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TYRA BANKS: So, it`s my responsibility to show myself unretouched, to come out on my talk show with my face washed, to show my cellulite, to show my back fat on my bras. That`s my responsibility.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Tyra Banks gets real about weight. What she told me about who`s to blame for the unreal pressure on women to look thin, and what she is doing to fight it, coming up next.

CARROLL: And could it be true? Is Michael Jackson going to appear on this season of "American Idol"? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT sets the record straight once and for all, coming up.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

We`ve been all over the constant obsession with weight and body image with our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT weight watch specials. It has gotten so bad, even Tyra Banks has been slammed by the tabloids for gaining weight since leaving modeling, even though she`s still gorgeous, and at a very healthy weight.

On Monday`s "Tyra" she re-creates that "Sports Illustrated" cover that made her a superstar 10 years ago. I sat down with Tyra and we talked about the modeling industry`s issue surrounding body image, and how she dealt with the vicious tabloid magazines.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: Here you are, re-creating the swim suit cover with which you made history 10 years ago.

BANKS: Yes.

ANDERSON: Very cool idea. I have to ask you, why don`t you think, in 2007 -- you`re doing it for your show. Why don`t you think it could be the cover of "Sports Illustrated" right now?

BANKS: The cover for real?

ANDERSON: Yeah.

BANKS: Oh, gosh, I`m not interested on being on the cover for real again. Even after I had my two covers, they asked me back a couple of times. I was trying to make a transition right now. I`m retired from modeling. So, I did it for myself and for my talk-show audience, not for modeling purposes.

So, it was more to just commemorate 10 years ago, and to celebrate that it`s 10 years later, and 20 pounds heavier. I was 140 pounds in that cover and now I`m 161 pounds.

ANDERSON: You really have embraced your curves now that you`ve got them. What do you think has changed over 10 years? Because, you know, 10 years ago, 15 years ago, everyone embraced curvaceous, beautiful models. But now it doesn`t seem to be that way so much.

BANKS: When it comes to modeling, models have always been thin. It`s just varying degrees of thin. When I was modeling, girls were a size 6. But people were still saying models are too thin. Models are too thin. It`s something I constantly heard, we had picketers outside of fashion shows sometimes because the models were too thin. People were saying that.

And I was even told when I was 123 pounds to lose 10 pounds and go to 113.

ANDERSON: Oh, wow! At your height?

BANKS: At 5`10," because I was so curvy. They were like, that`s just too much. We want less. It`s more extreme now. And models are a size zero, but hopefully things are changing. Hopefully, with Beyonce on the cover of "Sports Illustrated", looking so curvalicious. And like those hips, and that waist, and --

ANDERSON: Like her song, "Bootielicious".

BANKS: Looking very "Bootielicious", very gorgeous. I mean, you know, even me recreating it, a lot of women are going to see that and say, you know what, my hips are like Beyonce`s, my breasts -- or my back fat is like Tyra`s, and that`s OK.

ANDERSON: You know, you have spoken publicly, recently. About the tabloids who really took aim at you. We all know, with really cruel headlines, including "America`s Next Top Waddle".

BANKS: Waddle, yes.

ANDERSON: Which was so mean. But I want to take a listen right now, to something.

BANKS: OK.

ANDERSON: A message you sent the tabloids right here on your show. Let`s listen to that. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BANKS: I have something to say to all of you that have something nasty to stay about me, or other women built like me, women that sometimes, or all the time, look like this, women whose names you know, women whose names you don`t, women who have been picked on, women whose husbands put them down, women at work, or girls in school, I have one thing to say to you -- kiss my fat ass!

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: You were angry.

BANKS: Yes.

ANDERSON: Why did you choose not to just sit back, let it all blow over?

BANKS: Yes.

ANDERSON: As some people may have chosen to do it that way?

BANKS: Yes.

ANDERSON: You didn`t want to do that?

BANKS: It`s not so much about the picture, but the things that were said. And it`s not -- I wasn`t going against the tabloids, either. I was going against people that just make fun of people that are curvier, that are plus size. I`ve experienced this firsthand when on my talk show, last season, I put on a 350-pound suit, to show people how disgustingly horrible people are to people that are overweight.

So, it wasn`t like screw you, tabloids. You can`t beat the tabloids. The tabloids are always going to be there. It was for people that make people feel less than, if they`re not super skinny.

ANDERSON: Great, great message.

In addition to talking about it here on your show, and other places, you posed for the cover of "People" magazine. While so many people applauded you, said way to go, Tyra, I love what you were saying. There are some detractors who say it looks like she was air brushed on the "People" magazine.

BANKS: Yes.

ANDERSON: I don`t know that she was completely honest about how much weight she gained. You know, maybe its hypocritical. What do you say to those critics?

BANKS: You know, what`s really sad. It`s so much more enjoyable to believe something that`s negative. So, there`s a picture of me on some beach in Australia. There`s no footage of it, there`s a photo. I feel like that`s very easy to believe. But when I walk on a magazine with the body I`ve had, for years, that people see me every single day on my talk show, why is that so hard to believe?

ANDERSON: I want to go back to the super-skinny phenomenon out there with the models. Who do you think is to blame? Because fashion designers don`t want to take responsibility. The super-skinny models don`t want to take responsibility. The magazine editors, everyone is blaming someone else. Who needs to take responsibility here?

BANKS: I think everyone needs to take responsibility, including myself. You know, I was a model for so long. Although I was 30 pounds heavier than the average model during my career, I still was a model, and still projecting an image that was very difficult to live up to.

So, it`s my responsibility to show myself unretouched, to come out on my talk show with my face washed, to show my cellulite, to show my bloops -- you know, my back fat on my bra. That`s my responsibility to show people. I don`t even look like my pictures in the Victoria Secret catalogue, that have been retouched. My "People" magazine cover was not.

ANDERSON: And Anna Wyntor (ph) is putting Jennifer Hudson on the cover of "Vogue". I think that`s an amazing step towards making a change. What do you think?

BANKS: I think it`s fabulous that Jennifer Hudson is on the cover of "Vogue." I haven`t seen it yet. But I hear she looks stunning. The girl is beautiful on the inside. on the outside. I sat here with her on my talk show, even in person. I was like, you`re a stunningly beautiful woman. She is. That`s a big step, not just for plus size women, full-figured women, but for black women, too.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Tyra is really taking the issue of healthier body images seriously by adding plus-size models to "America`s Next Top Model". You can catch that special edition on Monday at "The Tyra Banks Show". Just check your listings.

Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s continuing coverage of couples who are making their relationships work in Hollywood, and beyond. It seems like we`re always telling you about the big star break ups. So, here is what we wanted to know. What about all the success stories? It`s not all divorce court out there. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is here to tell you why.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON (voice over): The year was 1988. And there must have been something in the air for lasting love in Hollywood. It`s when Kevin Bacon married Kyra Sedgwick. Michael J. Fox wed actress Tracy Pollin (ph), and Tom Hanks tied the knot with Rita Wilson. And after 18 years, all of them are still going strong. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you, it ain`t easy staying married in Hollywood.

JULIE JORDAN, "PEOPLE" MAGAZINE: To say there`s a lot of temptation in Hollywood is an understatement. They`re around the most beautiful people in the world. You know, they`re doing love scenes with just, pretty attractive people. So, it`s hard because the schedules keep them apart. If these couples can manage to stay together, then that`s a feat in itself.

ANDERSON: And it`s a feat accomplished by country music stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, who got married more than 10 years ago. They have three daughters and tell CNN`s Larry King their secret: Strong Southern values.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

FAITH HILL, COUNTRY SINGER: The cards are kind of all stacked against us, in that way. But that fear went away when I got to know Tim, and his desire for a family, and a foundation, like we grew -- that both of us grew up with.

ROB LOWE, ACTOR: Marriage is tough.

ANDERSON: Rob Lowe tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that you have to work at marriage. He married make-up artist Cheryl Berkoff (ph) 15 years ago, just after recovering from a very public sex tape scandal.

ROB LOWE, ACTOR: I mean, I have no answers. It`s up and down, and it`s wonderful. And it`s a struggle. And it`s all of these things that we all know, you know. But I love it. And if I have an answer, I would bottle it, and sell it, and I would retire.

ANDERSON: Sandra Bullock has been married about a year now to "Monster Garage" host, Jesse James. She tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT her secret is doing what feels right.

SANDRA BULLOCK, ACTRESS: Once you try to make it look like something that it`s not, and you try to be the perfect couple, no one is the perfect couple. The world isn`t perfect. So, don`t -- it`s not going to work, you know. Just -- I think people forget we`re supposed to enjoy this lifetime.

ANDERSON: The answer to long-lasting relationships is not always marriage. Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have never married, but made it work for some 18 years. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together 23 years. They never tied the knot, either.

GOLDIE HAWN, ACTRESS: I like being his girlfriend. I like that notion. I think it`s sexy. I do think it`s a way of saying, you know what? I don`t own you.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: Sometimes leaving Hollywood helps to keep relationships strong. Paul Newman is a great example of that. He and wife, Joanne Woodward, live in West Port, Connecticut, and they`ve been married since 1958.

CARROLL: So, is Michael Jackson going to be on "American Idol"? The rumor mill has been working overtime on this one. We`re going to clear it all up for you, once and for all.

Plus, there`s word of a major surprise on idol, next.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

CARROLL: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

It`s official. Those rumors about Michael Jackson being part of "American Idol" were just that, rumors. There had been rumblings that Jackson would make an appearance on this season of "Idol", but as SHOWBIZ TONIGHT first told you, it`s not true.

The executive producer of "American Idol" has officially dispelled that rumor, in an interview with "Television Week." But he does promise that within the next two weeks viewers will see the biggest thing to happen to "Idol" in five years. So, no Jackson -- and we`ll just have to wait to see what the big surprise is.

ANDERSON: Wonder what that is?

Controversial Miss USA Tara Conner may be going from rehab to Broadway. There are reports that Conner is in rehearsals to join the cast of "Chicago," replacing Bebe Neuwirth (ph) in the role of Roxie Hart. Producers tell the "New York Post" that it would be a win-win for everybody involved. Conner spent about a month in rehab, in Pennsylvania, after it came to light that she was doing drugs and drinking underage.

CARROLL: We asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. Anna Nicole Smith -- should her mother decide where she is buried? 38 percent of you say, yes. And 62 percent of you say, no. Here are some of the e-mails we got.

Yvonne from Florida writes: "I think that the mother is the next of kin, and should get the body, but Anna should be taken to the Bahamas."

And Ed from Canada writes: "Clearly, Anna wanted to be with her son, and bought two plots. Her mother should respect her wishes."

ANDERSON: We do appreciate your e-mails. Keep on sending them in.

Now, it`s time to see what`s coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

On SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, this weekend, advice for Britney Spears. What does Britney have to do to clean up her image and revive her career? Saving Britney Spears, tomorrow and Sunday on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

We`ll take a look at the emotional impact to Dannielynn in SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s continuing coverage of Anna Nicole Smith`s death. That will be on Monday.

That is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thanks for watching. Have a great weekend, everybody. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

CARROLL: And I`m Jason Carroll here in New York. Glenn Beck is next. Right after the latest headlines from CNN Headline News.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
