KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Yes, Judy Woodruff, thank you so much.

We are going to take you live to Riverside County, where we are following a high-speed pursuit that looks like has just come to an end. Right now the suspect is coming out of the car. Not quite sure what caused the car to come to a stop.

This is what we know so far. As the suspect gets out of the car, his hands up, obviously he's walking backwards towards the police. This is proper police procedure, just so he doesn't pull out any weapons and doesn't do anything crazy.

He's going to ease himself back slowly. And then police will probably have him lie face down on the ground and they'll search him at that time, cuff him and take him away.

But this is what we know. This is an armed -- believed to be armed parolee, who was stopped by police a couple hours ago. And they went to run his license plate and noticed that he was a wanted parolee. Well, while they were running the plate, as you can see, he took off and led police on a high-speed chase for a couple of hours.

Don't know if he had a weapon on him or in the car, but -- there you go. There's the proper SOP -- standard operating procedure -- there. They're going to have him lie face down and they will approach him, frisk him, see if there's any weapons on him. And then cuff him and take him in.

Like I was saying, they consider him armed and dangerous because he's a parolee. And they probably know a lot of things about the suspect. And so they have to treat him as an armed and dangerous suspect.

You'll see now the lead agency here -- I believe it's a California Highway Patrol -- approaching the suspect now. Actually, you see the CHP officers in the back behind. It looks like they've got two agencies here dealing with this.

There you go, the police officer patting him down, checking to see if there are any weapons. And now they're going to cuff him. Looks like they haven't found anything on him right away.

And you'll see how the police officers surround the area, just to make sure it's safe, make sure there's nobody else that comes out of that car, and to make sure that he has been acting alone. Very -- this actually was done extremely well, without incident, obviously.

He was thought to be armed and dangerous, but that's normal for a parolee, given the information that they probably were able to get him on. It is the highway patrol, there it is. California Highway Patrol was the lead agency in this highway -- this high-speed pursuit.

So, all said and done, it's over with. Suspect is in custody and I'm sure we'll find out more about this man later on in the day. Judy, we're going to go back to you and "INSIDE POLITICS."
