CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: Hello everyone, I'm Catherine Callaway in Atlanta. There's been a development in the search for missing teenager Elizabeth Smart in Salt Lake City. Let's go right to Frank -- CNN's Frank Buckley who has the latest.

Frank, what's happened?

FRANK BUCKLEY, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Catherine, sad to say it's not a positive development. It's just that the man who was in the sketch that has been widely circulated, broadcast throughout the day, a man police said they were looking for -- they have, in fact, found him, but he did not provide the information they were looking for. He has been questioned and released.

Police did not provide us with a name, but as we were talking to one of the detectives here, he took a phone call on his cell phone and told us that, in fact, this man has now been questioned. As a result of the composite being widely broadcast today, he was found. He was questioned by officers and -- quote, "He is not a suspect nor did he provide us with the information that we were looking for," according to Detective Dwayne Baird (ph).

He said, quote: "It's another lead that's gone nowhere". So unfortunately the man that seemed like a promising lead at one point today as a possible material witness has not provided information that has been helpful to detectives -- Catherine.

CALLAWAY: All right, thank you Frank. That's CNN's Frank Buckley with the latest on the search for Elizabeth Smart. We'll have any developing news on the search for Elizabeth Smart and on the news of the day coming up 30 minutes.

But now is "RELIABLE SOURCES."
