THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: From beaches to gadgets we go. Matter of fact, this is the third in our triumvirate.

STEVE KRUSCHEN, "MR. GADGET": The finals. No more.

KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Oh, we know you'll be back.

O'BRIEN: Mr. Gadget is here. Some people call him Steve Kruschen, but you can just call him Mr. Gadget, yes.

And we've had some interesting ones so far. I'm really partial to that home entertainment network thing.

KRUSCHEN: Home entertainment Web...

(CROSSTALK)

O'BRIEN: Yes...

KRUSCHEN: And we should, we should mention, I forgot to mention last time, that information about all of these products and technologies is at mrgadget.com, on my Web site.

O'BRIEN: All right, you know...

KRUSCHEN: I don't sell anything...

O'BRIEN: ... I have a hunch we have that -- oh, I just put that...

PHILLIPS: There it is.

O'BRIEN: ... Web site up there for you...

KRUSCHEN: OK.

O'BRIEN: ... mrgadget.com...

(CROSSTALK)

O'BRIEN: ... and it's a good place to go...

KRUSCHEN: See on the right there...

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: ... where it says, High Tech Home? That's where you click for all the info.

O'BRIEN: No, and just for full disclosure here, you're an independent operator here...

KRUSCHEN: I'm an independent operator.

O'BRIEN: ... you're not in anybody's pocket.

KRUSCHEN: No.

O'BRIEN: No. All right.

KRUSCHEN: Your pocket.

PHILLIPS: Yes, we got...

O'BRIEN: All right. Faucets...

KRUSCHEN: OK.

O'BRIEN: ... now, you know, you...

PHILLIPS: What do we have?

KRUSCHEN: This is...

O'BRIEN: You cover the full panoply of gadgets...

KRUSCHEN: That's right, they're gadget -- if it's a gadget, I'll go for it.

O'BRIEN: Right, yes.

KRUSCHEN: This is the first for the home.

O'BRIEN: Yes.

KRUSCHEN: This is from Delta. This is the e-Flow faucet. Now, you've had them in hotels, you know, in the -- you know, restrooms in the lobbies, you know, and you've had them in the airports. But this is the first one...

O'BRIEN: My kids love playing with them...

KRUSCHEN: Exactly. And...

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: That's right, and this has the little sensor down here. This is the e-Flow. And, you know, you put your hands under it, it turns on for...

O'BRIEN: ... magic, yes. KRUSCHEN: ... about 30 seconds. It installs very easily, there's a little controller that goes underneath the sink, and it's -- operates on four AA batteries for at least a year, or you can -- it has a very easy hard-wire kit, so it's very easy to do.

But what are the advantages? Well, first of all...

PHILLIPS: Conservation.

KRUSCHEN: ... the kids -- yes, the kids like it...

O'BRIEN: Kids have fun.

KRUSCHEN: Kids have fun. The germs aren't transferred because there's no hands.

PHILLIPS: That's true.

KRUSCHEN: Also, the controller is -- you can regulate it so you can't turn it up and make it too hot, so it regulates the temperature. And less of a mess, because you don't have to, you know, reach around -- you know, get filth everywhere.

PHILLIPS: And you can take all these...

KRUSCHEN: And they have these...

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: ... covers.

O'BRIEN: ... it's cool, it's cool. Now that...

KRUSCHEN: All these -- that's right. And it's priced in the $400, $500 range...

O'BRIEN: That's an expensive faucet.

KRUSCHEN: Well, but, you know...

O'BRIEN: At $400 to $500.

KRUSCHEN: Well, first of all, first of all, you know the product quality, they're legendary for stuff. It doesn't break.

O'BRIEN: Right...

KRUSCHEN: And in this...

O'BRIEN: Yes, but a Delta faucet without that box is a fraction of that, so...

KRUSCHEN: Well, that's true, without that box...

O'BRIEN: Yes, yes, yes.

KRUSCHEN: ... it depends...

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: ... well, they have high line, I mean, it depends on the finish that you get...

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: ... and all that. Anyway, this is cool.

O'BRIEN: All right.

KRUSCHEN: I like it.

O'BRIEN: Now...

PHILLIPS: This is even more cool.

O'BRIEN: Yes, this...

KRUSCHEN: Now take a look...

PHILLIPS: Something my husband would love.

KRUSCHEN: Take a look at this, if you can. This is the Harmony Remote. And you see on the screen it says "Steve." That would be me, because this is mine. And what happens is, here's how it runs. You hook this up to your computer, hook the remote itself up to...

O'BRIEN: Oh, the USB.

KRUSCHEN: It's USB, into the computer. OK. And Windows goes and says, Hey, there's some new stuff here...

O'BRIEN: And it asks you for some obscure driver, which drives me nuts...

KRUSCHEN: ... but it goes to their Web site...

O'BRIEN: Oh, it does, gets it.

KRUSCHEN: Yes, gets you there...

O'BRIEN: All right...

KRUSCHEN: ... you -- it downloads the driver. You get the -- then you go to their Web site and it downloads a little program, and then, through the Internet, you tell it what your equipment is, and it says, Oh, OK, you got this model and this make, and all the stuff gets downloaded to your remote.

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: And then you tell it who's your content provider...

O'BRIEN: Wow. KRUSCHEN: ... like, you know, I say, you know, DirecTV or something. Comes down, I got TiVo with DirecTV, it knows that. So I put -- so it goes in here, and what's great after that is, like, take a look at this, it'll say TiVo Television on there.

O'BRIEN: Yes, there.

KRUSCHEN: And what's great is that after that, whenever you want to do anything -- I don't know if you can see that -- whenever you want to do anything, it's one button.

O'BRIEN: Oh, that's nice.

KRUSCHEN: So basically, you want to watch something, you just press the button on the side, and what it does is, with Smart State technology, it turns on your TV, sets the correct input, turns on your AV receiver, sets the correct input, does all that with one button.

And let's say, you know, you come in and you forget, Oops, I turned on the TV, now I'm out of sequence, right? With me so far?

O'BRIEN: I'm following you, I'm following you.

KRUSCHEN: You out of sequence? So the with...

PHILLIPS: ... direction book.

KRUSCHEN: ... with Smart State technology, you don't even need it. With Smart State technology...

PHILLIPS: Oh, yes, I do.

KRUSCHEN: ... you push the Help button, and then it starts asking you, Is your TV on? Yes or no.

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: So you get back to...

O'BRIEN: ... you moron, your TV's on.

KRUSCHEN: Well, well, then it turns it -- if you say yes, it turns it off. Or whatever you need to get back to that baseline of equilibrium.

O'BRIEN: Wow, wow.

KRUSCHEN: And then if you -- then, you know, we're watching TV, and let's say we want to watch a DVD, you switch down to watching DVD, and it makes all the appropriate switching.

This is great.

O'BRIEN: And...

KRUSCHEN: Takes a little time to set up, but... O'BRIEN: But it sounds like it's worth it. What's it cost?

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: It's $200...

O'BRIEN: You know...

KRUSCHEN: ... and it's so worth it.

PHILLIPS: OK, the biggest difference, now, the one we purchased, I was telling you, I can't remember, it was Home Depot or Radio Shack or something...

O'BRIEN: Right, you (UNINTELLIGIBLE), it's an old one.

PHILLIPS: ... and oh, my God, it's all in one...

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIPS: ... but you have to press all these different buttons, and I...

KRUSCHEN: That's right.

PHILLIPS: ... still get confused, even though it's just one.

KRUSCHEN: That's right. And I've seen some really nice ones. I've had them...

O'BRIEN: Yes, yes.

KRUSCHEN: ... we talked earlier on the show, but this one is so superior, so far above any of the other ones, and nobody knows about it yet.

O'BRIEN: All right...

KRUSCHEN: You can get it on their Web site, and there's a link from...

PHILLIPS: There you go.

KRUSCHEN: ... mine to theirs. And I just...

O'BRIEN: All right.

KRUSCHEN: ... I just love it.

O'BRIEN: And if it gets lost, it'll find its way back to your...

KRUSCHEN: Yes, I wish.

O'BRIEN: ... that's another...

KRUSCHEN: That's a whole different technology. O'BRIEN: All right.

KRUSCHEN: But that's great.

O'BRIEN: Steve, we had fun.

KRUSCHEN: Yes, we have.

O'BRIEN: Always appreciate your coming on.

KRUSCHEN: Oh, my pleasure.

PHILLIPS: Thank you.

O'BRIEN: Mr. Gadget...

(CROSSTALK)

KRUSCHEN: ... great to be with you.

O'BRIEN: ... a good mix of things, we appreciate it.
