SILVIO BERLUSCONI, ITALIAN PRIME MINISTER (through translator): Italy knows and remembers very well that it owes its freedom, democracy, and well being to the United States of America who had contributed with so many young lives to our own freedom. And that's why I am here today. I am here today to bear witness and to guarantee our moral and material supports in this fight against terrorism, in this fight against those who masterminded, against those who perpetrate it, and against those who harbor it.

PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: You have been listening to the prime minister of Italy, Mr. Berlusconi, describe a little bit of Italy's commitment to the coalition. He had just finished meetings with deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz. Mr. Berlusconi is expected to meet with President Bush in about two hours. They are also, we are told, expected to have a news conference after those meetings.
