Aired March 14, 2001 - 9:48 a.m. ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Remember the guest we had yesterday who said something about the bulls on Wall Street getting mad cow disease? Well, it looks like it has settled in here.

You see the Big Board of the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow now under 10,000 -- the first time it has been there for months.

Now, we're keeping our eyes on this number.

We understand that some trading curbs have kicked in now at the New York Stock Exchange, and the traders expect the numbers to stay right in this area for some time, but the question still is how much fear is out there.

Of course, we'll keep our eyes and ears tuned to this story, and we'll have updates for you throughout the day.
