The Ohio governor, almost immediately after stepping out of a barn here, found himself under siege from a collection of aides and media who lobbed the easy-to-pack New Hampshire snow into balls and threw them at the candidate.
Kasich, who has made it a point during the GOP race to not attack others, shed any coyness when suddenly in a battle of the elements.
“Take that, Putin!” he said at one point as he ducked and dodged a flurry of snowballs, though most hit him squarely.
And the clash only escalated as minutes ticked by and Kasich showed no hurry to end it in a draw. The Ohio governor, latching his hands to one assailant’s shoulders, threw him into the bed of snow and climbed on top, as a Kasich ally shoveled more powder in the man’s face.
Having finally won, the delighted and giddy Kasich boarded onto his campaign bus, where he was headed for his 100th New Hampshire town hall in Bedford.
