Draft Biden runs ad just hours before the Democratic Debate kicks off

Biden planning to announce decision soon

Washington CNN  —

Hours before the first Democratic debate of the 2016 election is expected to kick off without the vice president on stage, the group urging Joe Biden to run for president released another ad.

The video features photos of working families struggling to make ends meet. A clip of Biden plays giving a speech about his father temporarily leaving the family to find work when Biden was in third grade.

“For the rest of our life – my sisters and my brother – my dad never failed to remind us that a job is about a lot more than a paycheck. It’s about your dignity. It’s about respect. It’s about your place in the community,” he said.

“You never quit on America. And you deserve a president who will never quit on you,” he adds.

As the five declared Democratic presidential candidates get ready to meet in Las Vegas for Tuesday’s CNN Facebook debate, Biden plans to remain in Wilmington, Delaware for a final day before returning to Washington. He is likely to watch on Tuesday night, aides say, although they insist his decision will not be influenced by the debate’s outcome.

The same group behind Monday’s ad pulled their previous one last week recalling Joe Biden’s painful personal story of loss in its pitch for his candidacy.

By showing photographs of the immediate family members Biden has lost - including his first wife and his oldest son, sources close to Biden said the ad treaded on “sacred ground.”
