Owen Labrie leaves court

Friday brought “some measure of justice” for the victim of a sexual assault at a New Hampshire prep school, her family said. The former student she said raped her was convicted on one felony and three misdemeanors, but acquitted of the most serious charges: three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault.

“There is no joy in this outcome, however, as our daughter can never get back what she has lost,” the family said.

Owen Labrie, who had planned to go to Harvard and take divinity classes, faces a maximum sentence of 11 years.

In Italy, authorities arrested 10 people in connection with the deaths of 52 people.

Trump: I’m rich; I can pay more

Donald Trump, billionaire real estate mogul and presidential candidate, says he is cool with sending more of his money to Washington. “You’ve seen my statements. I do very well. I don’t mind paying a little more in taxes. The middle class is getting clobbered in this country,” the GOP favorite in the polls said Friday.

So who would pay more during a Trump presidency? Hedge fund people, he said. The way they – and real estate investors – earn money is taxed differently at a lower rate. They didn’t build this country, the middle class did, Trump said.
