Up close and personal with Vesta —
This image taken on October 20, 2011 from an altitude of about 420 miles (680 kilometers) shows Vesta's crater "Canuleia." About 6 miles (10 kilometers) in diameter, it is notable for the rays of bright material that seem to emanate from it. To the northeast, scientists also identified a presently unnamed crater of about the same size.
