First, the call came for Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

And finally, the call has come for Warwick Davis.

Davis, first known for his role as Wicket the Ewok in “Return of the Jedi,” will return for “Star Wars: Episode VII,” he announced Thursday on YouTube.

He is the latest actor from the original “Star Wars” trilogy to join the film, the first of a third and final trilogy.

Davis went on to play the lead character in “Willow,” and has had roles in other fan favorite film series such as “Harry Potter.” He also poked fun at himself in the HBO TV series “Life’s Too Short.”

Davis hosted “Star Wars Celebration: Europe” last year, where he made no secret of his desire to return to the “Star Wars” series.

Whether he will reprise the role of Wicket or take on another role remains to be seen.
